Malls being forced to reduce rents on their shops, with slightly cheaper prices for shoppers.  Up to now anything you bought at a mall had a hefty 'Westfield tax' built into the price.

I predict the major fast food chains create microwave-at-home versions of their lardy snacks.

The Monday before lockdown had a HUGE queue at our local KFC so there's one product people wanted to take with them to the apocalypse.

• The Aussie government might come to its senses and realise that the 'Them & Us' of Scott Morrison's government has got to stop and that the ditch is not a mote between our two countries. We should treat each other as equals. ANZAC esprit de corps
  
  
• Kids might realise that iDevices are a tool to improvement and not a social isolation device
• Kids might realise how selfish they have become and their actions are their responsibility and no one else's
• More teenagers might choose the life sciences as opposed to hardware/software technology
• Mankind might make a bigger effort to get off this planet
• Realising, NOW, how easy it is to reverse pollution of industry and transport, mankind might make an even bigger and more serious effort to find cleaner, cheaper & more efficient forms of energy

• People would have learnt to cook
• Wider acceptance of introverts

The new pace of life with working from home and more family time and no running about makes people realise that they don't actually have to be in such a damned hurry all the time. I look forward to a much more leisurely future, where people amble instead of run, stop to admire their surroundings, and abandon aggressive jet planes ripping through the sky in favour of gentle environmentally-friendly airships languidly drifting to their destinations.

Oh no more of Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay and all those Bake Off judges. Mind you they are better than those channel Nine lot.

Fewer online meeting. My work meetings have increased. Two of my weekly social events are now online, which requires more effort. There are also invitations to other events as part of the way of the "new normal" socialising. It used to be easier saying that when I'm home for the evening I stay home. Now there are invitations which conflict with my time out. These will diminish over time even during alert level 4.

The pessimist in me thinks nothing will change, we'll just go back to our usual habits

I'm hoping for people travelling less and more integrated communities.

Probably a very long shot, but just maybe people will realise that there is better food than the stuff from the junk food outlets. Would be nice if more home prepared food is eaten.

 

I doubt it. if anything well see an increase in fast food consumption. The first 6-12 months post-coronavirus will be the hardest. People will still be nervous to go out so I fully expect take out to be hugely popular.

This is one thing I'm looking forward to and hope it actually happens. I love the movie theater experience but being an introvert at heart I wouldn't mind paying $20-40 for new releases to watch at home.

Just wish Apple would release their latest ATV box. It is in the latest code releases. More storage would be great or the ability for plug-in ext storage.
