I don't drink coffee, but Dominos pizza is pretty awful where I live.

Have you tried BP espresso?

Have you tried Dominos pizza?

Nobody goes to Dominos for a deluxe dining experience, or to BP for a gourmet coffee. You go because they're filling, cheap, and convenient, or alternatively give that caffeine hit. They're usually good enough for purpose.

If I have half a dozen kids around on a sleepover, a beery Saturday afternoon on the deck with friends, or SWMBO and myself can't be arsed making anything after a long day's work, then Dominos is a great (and close) option, and a cheap way to fill up a lot of people.

Not everyone wants to go to the bother of driving around searching out the bespoke pizzeria that takes half an hour to get your meal to you just for the satisfaction of saying 'I ate real Italian pizza, none of that common fast foot rubbish.'

So you’re just trolling then.

You didn't answer my question.

I think I may have actually had BP coffee once. I was with someone and it would have been churlish to refuse. It was drinkable but I didn't find it anything special. I prefer good coffee from real cafés.

I am from a generation that patronised what were then known as service stations for things like petrol, oil and accessories related to motoring. If I approach a petrol pusher, I want petrol, not bread or milk or coffee or a supermarket experience. That is what supermarkets are for.

Cool story. Dominos has nothing to do with coffee.

BP coffee is better than most of the coffee you get in cafes in Europe. It's not amazing but there's nothing seriously wrong with it.

It depends on where you get it. Dutch coffee is excellent. French coffee is the nectar of gods. British coffee is ... sort of like British everything.

The Brits always seem to take the milk way too hot.

Back on topic, I used to prefer BP coffees but the Z on my way to work actually makes a decent coffee and now I prefer it to BP, but some Z coffees are aweful.

Italy cafes does not seem to belong to Europe for him. Always these generalisations ... not everyone drinks Gahwa. πŸ˜„

If you view over extracted, basically burnt robusta as good, you do you.

There lies the point. Wild bean in NZ is fairly well made with reasonably good quality beans. It’s significantly better than something vile like Costa or most Starbucks blends. It’s not made by pressing a button on a fully automatic machine.

I have tried coffee from a few of these outlets, my wife stops to get tea. I have not finished any of them. Horrible coffee.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I was always told BP made the best hot chocolates, though now my decision is usually made based on whoever has a rapid charger :)

I don't drink coffee at all...does that mean I'm a bad person? πŸ™

(sidenote, I will - rarely - have a hot chocolate, however).
