Buying a Porsche. Always wanted a Porsche and have the means to buy one now but still can't bring myself to do it. Doesn't have to be anything special, not a fancy GT3RS. Just a nice little 5-8 yr old Cayman to take on weekend drives maybe the occasional track day.

Try this one. It‘s MY dream car. 😙

Now I don't feel so alone in agonising over this stuff.

Love the stories and dreams. Without dreams or something to look forward to life can be pretty dull.

As per the long winded topic 😅

For me it's flying first class (OK let's start with business class!) with family on a top tier airline to a far enough place to really enjoy it.

I can afford it but I can't get myself to do it because I'm counting how much groceries I can buy with that money!

What's on your list that you could do or have today but you can't get yourself to do it even though you have the means / money to attain it?

I sat in the LH seat for decades in front of the FirstClass. Like a „bus driver“ I am less impressed by this, but I respect and understand your wish as a passenger. 😉

For me, I would love to sail around the world, not in a small yacht either, I would love to do it on a square rigged yacht, take my time it may take 2 - 5 years.

The other one, fly to Germany, rent a Porsche 911 - 930 - 959 and drive on the Autobahn. ( I have trouble getting in and out of one now, even as a teen I had trouble, also they drive on the wrong side of the road, I have tried once in Nouméa and that was hairy for me, my wife and the locals, after a few days I think I would be OK.

John

I drove on the German roads, I thought I was doing extremely well driving at 150kpmh on "the wrong side of the road".... but we got passed by a camper van .

🤣 You were considered as a traffic obstacle here. But the rules will change in favor of the climate.

But something on my bucket list is going to France / Italy and travelling. I’ve had the means for years to do it but just haven’t.

Pro tip: If you are planning to become a parent, you should definitely do this beforehand. Later is also possible, but you'll have plenty of time to look forward to the second time round. 😉

A full or half-sleeve tattoo. I like tattoos, but have none. I can afford to have a large tattoo on my arm or arms, but there are a couple of reasons why I haven'r ever had one (despite trying once in England over 25 years ago, but being denied, due to "reasons").

1. I am wildly needlephobic. Mortally, dreadfully needlephobic. I have to be sedated to be vaccinated. I just don't do blood tests. I am starting to panic, writing this.

2. Permanent artwork - I am yet to settle on a specific thing that I want, that is uniquiely mine and doesn't have a "use by date" feel about it.

The thing with Business class / first class is even if you can afford it, how much more would you enjoy the things you could spend the money on at your destination.  If a return trip for two to Europe is say $10k more than economy, I'd rather have the $10k to spend on nice hotels etc over two weeks in Europe than splurging it on a 24 hour flight.  Or hire a Porsche for a week

You’ve sort of destroyed your own argument. If you can afford BC you may still be able to spend as much as you want at the destination. They’re not necessarily mutually exclusive. Wealthy people have no dilemma.

I guess if you can’t afford to do great stuff at the destination because you went BC, maybe you can’t really afford BC.

I didn't want to be too unrealistic but that would be my dream, to sit in the really really pointy bit at the front 😎 Doesn't fit the criteria of this topic since 9/11 made it impossible to do so as a passenger.

If I wasn't an office worker I would be a pilot. But I never got the courage to go to flying school and pay the huge sums.

My running joke with my wife is that we will fly business class with business class luggage tags only to be then driven to a hostel / YMCA 😂  Not that there is anything wrong with those places!

I've been running and swimming for many years and I can do a half marathon in just over an hour and a half,

Took me most of that time to do 12km run, earlier this year 😊

I have always thought I’d give my right arm (because I’m left-handed) to go into space. One of those short touristy flights might cut it - but would prefer a weekend at the ISS. Nothing too ambitious.

Sky diving is on my bucket list even just one jump - I have no issues with heights

What's stopping you? 🤔🙂

The ground, probably?

I've always wanted to move to a cabin in the woods, and just live on the land. No internet, computers, etc.

I could, I can do it. But I can't get myself to actually commit to it.

In October this year, I accomplished my bucket list of doing a marathon. It was the hardest thing I've ever done! Last 10km was a killer.
