I dunno why they don't just automatically add it, it's advertising the sale on the homepage but it still makes you add the coupon.

Yeah. Still my bad for not noticing it though. I have a bad habit of taking a bull in a china shop approach to purchases, especially tech related ones (these are software development books).

Even when I've bought things from 3rd parties using Amazon as a proxy, it's still rare for anything to take as long as 2 weeks. The NZ postal system is pretty good so very little delay is introduced by us.

Got this reply from The Book Depository today:-

"I can confirm that I have refunded you for 10% of your order. Please allow 1-3 working days for the amount to appear back in your account.
