It's only today the radio news has had had a story about what we're seeing - some companies now admit they cannot keep up with the imported item delivery backlog.

Be it stockpiled locally, or at the departing port heading here due them being packed to the gunnels every flight (but less of them)

Can't quite find an online mention of it at this point but it was fuel to our fire.

I'd missed this thread; I rarely use AliExpress but I ordered something on 17 Oct that hasn't turned up yet (standard shipping). I now see that Amazon has a similar item for a similar price; I wish I'd looked there in the first place!

This is now showing as 'accepted by last mile carrier' on Ali's site. It looks like we're getting there!

And arrived this morning :)

I have a small item that I'm losing hope of getting before Christmas (a phone case for my sister).

Ordered 10 November.

Handed over to airline shortly after.

Departed country of origin on 17 November.

Crickets since.

I expect it to take some time from depart to Customs here (usually with AliX it's about 2 weeks).

Gonna have to find a phone case here... Not many around for the Samsung A31.

Tracking sites interprets 'handed over to airline' as 'departed from origin country'
'Handed over to airline' does not mean it is on the plane.
In fact it doesn't even mean it is scheduled to depart within the coming days. I had an order shipped with SG post, there was a separate message of actual departure 1 month after it was 'departed' from Singapore.
So I guess there is a half chance your parcel hasn't yet departed from the origin country.

my order finally arrived on Saturday morning.

order date: 19 October

delivery date: 12 December

I queried with my seller why the estimated delivery dates are so far out of whack (my order was est 13 - 20 days) they responded that its Ali express that spits out the estimates and they have no control over it

I guess aliexpress doesn't want to update their estimated dates as it may deter people from ordering if they knew it was going to takes 2 months instead of "13 - 20 days" in my case

Anyone's package stuck at "Arrived at facility" or "arrived at destination country"?

Mine has been stuck there since 3rd December, is it because of the delays NZ Post is experiencing?

Given the timing. Most likely. Chuck it into the NZP tracker now.

That will likely be pre-sorting.

Mine took 3 days to move and that was 27th Nov

Went Intl Arrival - AKL airport, transit to local depot, Akl Airport (the sorting centre - 1min scan delay), then CHC airport 3 days later

And we know it doesn't take 3 days to get to CHC unless it's overflow on trucks. (the sorting centre is still flagged as airport even by road)

Tried tracking it with NZPost, nothing came up in NZPost tracking yet

It is shipped by SunYou so I'm getting a bit worried hearing others how their package never came from SunYou or the tracking number they provided is fake

Probably not what you want to hear, but I've had to request refunds on two items sent via SunYou. One order from eBay in October which has apparently been in NZ since 1 Nov. And one order from AliExpress in July which tracking states it has been in NZ since August. Refunds have been successful, with my intention to re-buy and request not to send item if they do ever show up. Neither have items have arrived yet.

Found this thread on Google and just adding my experience.

Placed 15 orders on AliExpress across August 23, August 27, and September 29.

Three orders are missing, one of which does not have tracking. The other two are both Cainiao shipping and, of all fifteen orders, are the only two that used Cainiao.

Wonder if they'll ever get through the backlog or if they'll just dispose of everything and start fresh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Orders that have not arrived (shipping used (partial tracking number) - notes):

Cainiao Super Economy Global (LP...) - Order placed September 29. Last update "New Zealand, Arrived at Facility" on October 20, with SunYou Logistics? (from https://chinapost-track.com/track-trace)

Seller's Shipping Method (UJ...CN) - Order placed August 23, no tracking

Cainiao Super Economy for Special Goods (LP...) - Order placed August 23. Last update "New Zealand, Arrived at Facility" on September 6, with SunYou Logistics?

Orders that arrived (shipping used (partial tracking number) - time took):

Orders from September 29

AliExpress Standard Shipping (910942...) - 56 days

AliExpress Standard Shipping (LP...SG) - 30 days

Orders from August 27

China Post Registered Air Mail (LE...CN) - 14 days

AliExpress Standard Shipping (910942...) - 43 days

Special Line-YW (PR...YP) - 15 days

AliExpress Standard Shipping (910942...) - 67 days

China Post Registered Air Mail (LE...CN) - 23 days

Singapore Post (LP...SG) - 27 days

Orders from August 23

4PX Singapore Post OM Pro (UB...SG) - 51 days

AliExpress Standard Shipping (910942...) - 41 days

AliExpress Standard Shipping (910942...) - 43 days

AliExpress Standard Shipping (910942...) - 43 days (yes this and above are separate orders, showed up at same time)

I've given up. Seems gear best and bang good are sending ok based on what people I know have revieved. Even wish are managing to get things delivered but Aliexpress is letting sellers lie and cheat and if you're not lucky enough that the fake tracking number is delivered to somewhere in the whopwhops they will just say its delivered and to ask the post office.

You just reminded me to file the last of my disputes; at lest Aliexpress is actually giving our money back. Personally im going to avoid Aliexpress for awhile.

I’m still getting a regular trickle of deliveries that were shipped with AliExpress Standard Shipping. They are slow, but I’m finding they are still getting through, it’s just taking 6-8 weeks instead of the usual 3-4.

I have had good success using postal.ninja to get more tracking information than what is provided by AliExpress - it scans a range of services to get the most up to date info, which is often not shown on the Aliexpress tracking.

Was speaking to someone at work about my aliexpress order today and how it finally arrived on the weekend. He also made mention of banggood how hes still getting decent shipping times with them, hes a bit of hobbyist for vaping and buys loads of equipment from the site

Thanks for that tidbit. Package Ninja picked up an additional tag about departing port on the 24th Nov, when package radar and others only saw the departed country of origin on the 17th. Guess my ass isn't getting my printer parts in time for Christmas.
