Just finished Pieces of Her on Netflix. Had great promise but was overly long and slow. Would have worked as a 4 parter, but felt stretched out. 6.5/10

Star Trek - Strange New Worlds.

Enjoying it so far. Not sure what rating to give it but perhaps a 7.5.

I quite like the casting except for Pike. Hopefully, he warms up to the role in a bit.

Given it's a prequel, perhaps it's all intentional that he feels a bit... off, I can't really put my finger on it. He seems to be trying to play too many roles and not nailing any of them

I see Bosch: Legacy https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14168162/episodes?season=1 starts tomorrow our time on Amazon Prime. The seven seasons of the original Bosch were outstanding and with the same cast I have high hopes for this.

Locke and Key season two.

Took a while to understand what was going on since it was a while since I had season 1, and the fact that a couple of characters can change what they look like but am enjoying it.

Can't really describe it without giving away too much about it but basically there are some magical keys that are linked to a family that when used have a variety of powers.

Dark fantasy/horror themed

The Pentaverate, on Netflix. Watched all six episodes in one go - shortest is 21 minutes, longest around 32 minutes.

Some funny bits. Mike Myers playing some jokes already used on Austin Powers (as a reference to) and more. A 6/10.

Bosch: Leagacy . Amazon Prime.  Meant to be a spin off from Bosch but it is really series 8 and it is good , in fact i enjoyed it more than the original .

Halo on TVNZ. Surprisingly good, I actually enjoy it more than the game.

Just like that there's a decent selection of pretty good stuff on TVNZ in general (ignoring ads obviously...)

Black Sales on Netflix

Pirates in the Caribbean. Their hunt to track down a Spanish treasure ship and also the life in and politics at the local pirate port.

I've just finished the first season and about to start the second.

Surprisingly good plot all things considered and they are not afraid to kill off main characters which is always a plus.
Don't expect brilliance but still fairly good overall and I'm looking forward to continuing watching.

My main beef with it is a few things seemed unrealistic, but I'm being hard on the show - it's made as entertainment :)

81% on rotten tomatoes for what is worth.

Oh and fair warning: plenty of topless scenes etc if that worries you.

Just saw the latest Halo episode which really has lowered the bar on this series even further.

The plot/storylines are far too generic and unrelated to Halo at all that you could take these episodes and use them in another setting very easily. Theres maybe 20-30min of Halo related content across all released episodes at the moment.

Really unimpressed but will end up viewing the rest so I can give it a proper review.

All four seasons are also on TVNZ On Demand for those without a Netflix subscription and it's Black Sails btw.

Star Trek - Strange New Worlds.

Just finished the 1st episode & "Anson Mount" as Captain Christopher Pike has zero personality(rather dull), he was more expressive as a non verbal Black Bolt in inHumans series. Hopefully he grows into the role & develops a unique persona. As for the episode itself, yeah was ok with a rather Hollywood ending. Hopefully SNW's isn't going down the Discovery path being overly melodramatic.

I thought he was quite good in the Discovery episodes that he was in but I agree with you that he fell flat in the first ep of Strange New Worlds.
