A.C.C's novel 'Childhood's End', ranks high amongst the greatest science-fiction stories ever written.

So when I spotted, online, a 3-part TV movie labeled 'Childhood's End', I couldn't wait to view it.

Bad idea. My stomach still hasn't settled down.

They say that crummy books often make great movies, while great books often make abysmally bad movies.

Unfortunately, so it is with this rendition of 'Childhood's End'. IMHO, it has to be one of the worst movie adaptations of all time.

So if you're a fan of Arthur's writing, do yourself a favor and avoid this garbage.

But if you're 12 years old, and don't much care what you watch, you'll love it.

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

Watched Arrivals on Saturday Night, What a good movie! Just excellent! Highly Recommended.

I haven't read the book, but I watched this several months ago.

I thought it was pretty average. It had the bones of a good story, but had a very 90's made-for-TV vibe.

Watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe on Saturday night. Pretty cool premise, not badly executed but could have been better. Has a really good cast - Brian Cox is always great and he lent a real air of credibility to the film as the crotchety old coroner working with his younger, more easy going son (Emile Hirsh - also a good actor - check out Alpha Dog if you haven't already!).

It was fairly predictable but I do enjoy films that only have 2 or 3 characters at most, which means you're relying on dialogue and setting to convey the story. I recommend watching it if you like scary films. The tropes are a bit recycled but it's worth a look.

But definitely not for those who either need a plot to be spelled out, or whose concentration wanders without continuous flashing lights, explosions and car chases.

Which probably includes almost everyone under the age of 30.

Doctor Strange (You should have liked "Inception" too)

First half very interesting and then it just ended quite quickly.

Still, It was enjoyable 7.5/10.
