NZHerald videos auto-playing when you press the "DON"T Auto play" button.

It bl**dy plays anyway! You have to press the video pause button to stop it playing!

Videos on newspaper sites. I want to READ newspapers. I WATCH TV news sites like the BBC. Don't need cross fertilisation.

We were all children once. If there were no children the human race would die off. It makes no sense to have such an apparent hatred of children.

What about some articles (I'm looking at you, Stuffed) with multiple videos embedded. If you don't click Stop on all of them, they start playing. Very annoying.

Especially when they all play because you dared to scroll the page or something.

Ive found one recently where the mute controll disappears when the video ad is playing. I normally mute it when I read the article with the video, then when the ad is done unmute it and see if its anything interesting or just like 3 news, sorry, "+3ehr new shub" where it is someone that reads out slowly what I have just read.

Why? Noisy, irritating and without point.

And who cares if the human race dies out? Why should it be any more exempt from that than say the Dodo or the Haast Eagle?

Possibly. I had to suffer some last night so it was fresh in my mind.

Same. I was on Stuff, to read an Americas Cup article. I pressed Pause it wont pause, until the article came up. So, what now? Avoid articles as I cant be arsed waiting 15 seconds for a 10 second clip, or avoid altogether? Forced ads.

YouTube ads that now state "Ads help support this creator." Even when the so-called creator is just some pimply kid who has uploaded someone else's copyrighted content.

Safari has a button in the address bar for each tab which will mute any sound playing on that tab.

I often hit that just to shut the videos up then scroll down and read and leave them to play to themselves.
