The work ethic of NZer's.

My turn to do the hiring for our little outbound call centre. Seek + Trademe ads. Plenty of CV's. Booked 8 or so interviews for last friday and today. Have seen two people so far. And both were late...

I get its a low paying, tough job. But do these people even want jobs??!!?! Or they are just applying because they have to.

... ok maybe not that small. But GRRRRRRRRRRR

The super-lightweight polystyrene packaging noodles US some US shippers use, combined with lots of static electricity from wool carpets.

Holy crap - I thought "unboxing" was supposed to be enjoyable - but I just spent over half an hour chasing thousands of wild agitated noodles around the house.

I've rounded them up - they're back in the box, but now what? Can't dispose of a large box full of noodles in the recycling bin, the box is too big to fit in the garbage bin, I wasn't planning a trip to the dump - and I do not want these things stored in the house - in case they escape.

Put the box on your verge with a $10 ONCO on it and watch someone clear it away for you?

OK, I give up - what's an ONCO?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Need to race out the door to get to maccas before 10:30 so I can get a mcmuffen with meat in it. No time to grab shoes but no problem, wont be leaving the car.

Then get there and there is a cone in the drivethru and that is closed, so have to walk in with bare feet like some homeless person or something. FFFffff.

People expecting others to wear shoes all the time.

Many of these same people wear their shoes indoor, so it's not a hygiene thing.

Generally I don't mind if people go barefoot as long as I can't smell their feet in an indoor space.

Are you okay with people with other body odours in indoor spaces?

Stinky feet caused by having feet trapped in shoes for hours isn't a problem for people who are usually bare.

Behodar: I like using CYT; do you know whether that's just Christchurch or nationwide? Google didn't find anything relevant to NZ, only some articles stating that it's going away in the US.

Well, apparently it was true; I went in there today and CYT was gone :(

Thats why the drivethru at glenfield was closed yesterday morning, a crane was parked in it pulling the signs down, and the ones on the window were gone when I drove thru a few days ago. They have a few more fancier burgers but I am trying to stop eating at maccas - ends up being $30 a meal with the fancy stuff.

Bought a game yesterday, advertised as cross-platform between Windows, Mac and PS4. Put it in my Mac and got told that my licence is only for Windows. Also didn't work on the PS4. Got a support ticket in, but I have a suspicion that they'll shirk all responsibility and that I'll need to fight with the reseller...
