Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Not as good as the first one, but quite enjoyable. 7/10
Wonder Woman - By far the best offering from DC so far, but I fully expect it to go downhill fast with Justice League (unless the extensive Joss Whedon re-shoots can save it - but I suspect it's too late). 7.5/10
John Wick 2 - Really enjoyed the first one, but this sequel was wholly inferior on every level. 5/10
Hidden Figures - Well acted, but fairly forgettable true story. Ostensibly about three very intelligent black women and their contributions to the NASA in the 1960s, however, it should have been called Hidden Figure (singular) as it was really only about one of them. 6/10
Life - This had received pretty average reviews, however I thoroughly enjoyed it. Fairly mindless, but suspenseful fun. Probably wouldn't stand up to repeated viewing, but for enjoyment factor of a one-off viewing a solid 8/10
Wonder Woman - 8.5/10
I was expecting good things from this, based on the trailers and an impressive outing in BvS last year, and it didn't disappoint. Just about everything was spot on - plot, cast, score, but have to single out Gal Gadot for taking a character that I always remembered as a cheesy TV show from the 70s and making it a legitimate protagonist. For me, the parallel is with Batman in 1989, where Michael Keaton and Tim Burton took something that was just a joke (albeit a fun one) on TV and gave it a depth and meaning that hadn't been tapped on the big screen before. It will be interesting to see where they take this in subsequent films.
I've also seen a few older films over the past two weeks as my second daughter just arrived and I've been spending many late nights up with feeding and settling. One that I'm ashamed to admit I hadn't seen before was Jaws - 9/10. This wasn't because I had an aversion to it, I just never got around to it. Though I watched it over 3 nights of disrupted sleep, it was still excellent. Even 40 years later it still stands up as a masterclass of taut storytelling and tension-building atmosphere. It was fun to spot the cinematic tricks which are now fairly commonplace or used to pay homage to the Jaws-era (and earlier) films. I don't know that I'll bother with any of the sequels, but I feel better for having crossed one of the classics off my list.

I don't know what you mean - much like Highlander and The Matrix, they only ever made one Jaws film...

A Street Cat Named Bob - 4/5 - loved it, based on a true life best seller about a Londoner drug addict and his stray cat. Curl up with a bottle of your best - very easy on the brain. No violence or cgi.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Been forced off work for a while so a random selection from my week.
Life: Not bad entertainment for a couple of hours although familiar and predictable. 7/10
CHiPS: Was looking forward to this being a child of the 70's and my super hero power being the ability to have humor of a 12 year old, I usually would like this sort of thing but it was to be blunt...terrible. 3/10 and that's only 1 for the bike stunts, 1 for the graphic use of yoga pants (cue 12 year old), and 1 for the cameo.
John Wick 2: Loved the first one and equally relished the second. Can't wait for the TV series. Keanu plays the role brilliantly. Well set up for #3. 8.5/10 More please!
XXX Return of Xander Cage: Enjoyable action romp matching the first (lets just pretend #2 didn't happen). Check brain at the door and don't think about the reality of physics too hard and you will be fine. 7/10
Lion: Simple enough story superbly told, fantastically filmed, and brilliantly acted. 10/10. The young actor has a bright future.
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

CHiPS? I watched the trailer and thought "Nope".

^Hah watching this right now. Some OK banter between the main characters but aside from that it's a poor man's 21 Jump Street reboot.
I watched Resident Evil Vendetta last night. The third of the CGI movies after Degeneration and Damnation. The CGI is very impressive, in some cases almost indistinguishable from reality. It's not a great film - typical Japanese to English dubbing which feels slightly off for some reason. But some of the action is exceptionally well choreographed and animated. Worth a look just as an impressive technical achievement I think!
On that note I want to watch Underworld: Blood Wars this weekend...

my condolences
Common sense is not as common as you think.
I'm avoiding watching some sequels, almost all remakes, all superhero movies and all comic book adaptations. I'm afraid this leaves little to see either at the movies or on disc, as most Hollywood product is so unoriginal now.

Good use of Ducatis, and some other good bike stunts.
Vince D'Onofrio must've been paid some serious coin to even show up.
Everyone has bills I s'pose.
