My interest was aroused when I saw a headline in the Herald that I mis-read as "Tennis star in trouble over French open-dress".

But it actually said "Tennis star in trouble over French Open dress".

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Smiling because my son's football team won another game - that makes it 6 out of 6, this season.

They played horribly, in atrocious conditions, but still won...which is the mark of a good team , I suppose.

I think the other team must've fielded some eligible, (but otherwise unused in pre-season) players, as the boys only recognised one or two players.

Ge0rge: Watching three Texans and a Spitfire fly in formation over my house.

Why? Were they being chased by a Messerschmitt? ;-)

That would be quite the sight! Do you still have any left that weren't shot down by the British? 😉

Stu: Watching five Harvard's flying in formation over our house.

Pah, Harvards … But they are nothing compared to the oldest Tiger Moth G-ACDC still flying, with which I myself hopped over the hedgerows of Kent. ;-)

A few years ago the Americans at Boeing were so kind to rebuild five new Me 262 in the US in flying condition … I think they will be hard to catch for a Spitfire of any later version as well. ;-)

Makes me smile that there was ever a time that anyone ever said - I know, purple with silver and yellow highlights and a ceiling you could bump your head on would look really cool...

Binley Mega Chippy makes me smile.

My wife's extended family all live within walking distance of this place and it's their regular.

Now they're having to wait in crowds to get chips.

That the garden is home to at least five red squirrels, two pairs of bullfinches, blue and great tits and other species of birds, without having made special arrangements for them. :-)

Do you live near a forest?

Believe it or not ... pretty much in the middle of Hamburg, a city with almost two million inhabitants. But we have a lake, a very big river and only very few high-rise buildings with more than 5 floors and a lot of trees and actually more bridges than Venice in the city.

Nash, it was a Fokker.

In a Messerschmitt.

5 x 3 Star attacks in a single day.

That our unplanned bathroom renovation, tipped to take 3 days and cost $2500, but took 8 weeks and cost twice that, is finally over and we can use our bathroom again and it looks pretty good.

I have to correct myself since I was told that we have more bridges in the city than Venice, London and Amsterdam together. ;-)
