@Paul1977:

The production design of the ships is great. Making the deck planks darker than what would be expected and painting almost all the exterior's black (instead of white) gives a very ominous and unsettling aesthetic.

Don't tell me it is one of those productions where the director makes scenes so dark that even with Dolby Vision or HDR you still can't see anything.

Much of it is fairly dark. I'm watching it in Dolby Vision on an OLED in a pitch black room, and like that it's fine!

First 3 Episodes of the Devil's hour on Prime Video. Wow it is intense. Interesting, but struggling a little to keep up with the characters and what timeline they are in. I am enjoying it though!

I'm about halfway through 1899 on Netflix. From the creators of Dark (which has excellent seasons 1 & 2, and an ok 3rd and final season).

Make sure you view the non-dubbed version as it is a multi-language show and works much better in the original languages since characters often can't understand each other.

Just when you think you've got an idea of what's going on, something comes out of left field and you're left scratching your head again.

The production design of the ships is great. Making the deck planks darker than what would be expected and painting almost all the exterior's black (instead of white) gives a very ominous and unsettling aesthetic.

I really enjoyed 1899 and am watching Dark now. IMO it's too complex. As an indication of how complicated the characters relationships are there's a Wikipedia article about it which actually includes all the family trees so you can trace the lineages.

Wednesday - Netflix - 8/10 (8.5 IMDb)

Follows Wednesday Addams' years as a student, when she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents.

We are half way through the 8 episodes of this fabulous, comedic, witty and just good fun show. Well written with lots of twists and turns. The sets, special effects and CGI are great and the supporting cast is great as well. You will recognise the Head Mistress from GoT, all 6'2'' of her.

Jenna Marie Ortega, who plays Wednesday, should win some awards for this performance. How she ever kept a straight face throughout, just shows pure acting talent.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I have watched the first four episodes of WEDNESDAY. I agree with your comments on the show, and Miss Ortega does a fabulous job of delivering some hilarious one-liners.

Just one thing though. I have a little difficulty picking up what she says in some sentences. I can easily understand the other actors, but Wednesday is a little hard to hear sometimes. I turned on the subtitles so that I don't miss any of the one-liners. 8/10

Finished the first season of 6 episodes, what a ride. I don't fully understand everything, but it was gripping and intense and interesting.

If anyone understood the final episode, feel free to PM me.

COBRA KAI (Season 5) - Netflix 7/10

I have watched this series throughout its five seasons and for the most part, I have enjoyed it.

As a fan of the original Karate Kid films, I can instantly recognize the characters from that franchise. Some of the original footage is shown in the way of flashbacks.

Its an easy watch, and the storyline is easy to follow. You don't need to have seen the original film series, but its definitely an advantage.

I was going to include another sentence, but it would have been a possible spoiler. Can we add spoilers, or is the option not available?

We've been in temporary accommodation for three weeks and return home on Saturday.

One of the stipulations here is that there isn't enough bandwidth for streaming (it's a rural property with a few homes on one property).

We have a lot of catching up to do, having read through these last couple of pages!

We watched all the episodes of WEDNESDAY over the weekend and liked it a lot. Agree with the previous comments and give it 8/10 as well. Very impressed with the acting of Jenna Ortega along with the CGI

Started Willow on Disney+ last night, first episode was ok but nothing amazing yet, the monsters were great, will need to watch a few more to see how it rates. My 15yo walked out halfway through but she loved Wednesday.

The series my wife and I enjoyed the most recently is 1883 on Prime TV. A prequel to Yellowstone, which I have not watched, was done extremely well and I rate it 10/10. My wife said she enjoyed it more than Yellowstone.

Watched an episode today without headphones, and I didn't need the subtitles on. Turns out that my Airpods Max needed to be reset 😁

just watched the Series Finale of the Walking Dead - kind of just watched it to  "get it over with" as I hadn't really been enjoying the show for some time and had really started to hate some of the characters :) Wasn't that bad, looks like we'll be getting some spin-off shows.

used to love this show - but watching it now just dissapoints me or makes me angry.
Still have the final episode to watch - and pretty much feel the same way about that as you described.
They should really give up on the spin-offs.

Yesterday the 2nd season of „Slow horses“ on Apple TV has started. I’d say 8/10 stars - recommended.

(Since the first year was for free with a purchase, this time it was a gift from Apple to watch for further 3 month - nice).
