Sea vermin can taste really good though.

With butter.

I will never forget the 5 pound lobster straight from the cutter into the boiling water on the quay in Freeport/Maine only with butter and a beer (they offered no white wine). :-)

Geektastic: I’ve another box to go if you want to join!

Had to Google what they were. Was hoping for fancy icecreams. Was disappointed. Sea vermin. blech.

They’re insanely expensive here. In the U.K. they’re served with chips in the pub and you can buy half a kilo of breaded scampi tails from the freezer in Tesco for about $10!

Get up this morning and the heatpump is just sitting there going 🤷‍♂️ [what even am i meme here]

Normally it cranks up to keep the set temperature as we open up doors for unused rooms first thing in the morning.

Yes, yes of course Mr Spammer I'm going to renew my NZTA "licence" when you email me from an address at slipperybabes.com. Plus your "Renew Now" url is just linked to Google...

I mean they're not even trying are they 😀

A tweet from Mickey Rourke calling Tom Cruise irrelevant.

I never ever travel without it.

(it can be supplemented in the motel room by an independent mini hotplate). No, not to save money, but rather a fall-back option and to invest in proper moka coffee and not to be served strange concoctions, which some places call coffee.

If I had to consistently drink German coffee I would too.

You've confused this with the NZ T&A license. ;)

I had a nice call this morning at 7am, from an automated source - "This is The Visa. There is a potentially fraudulent transactions for $9000 and $2500. Press 1 to verify or reject the transaction."

I bolded the words that made me smile and cringe all at the same time. Singular and plural in the same sentence. and of course, press 1 to verify or reject (which would have no doubt then prompted me to enter a Visa Card number that I don't actually have)>

Could also go in the Annoy thread as it was quite early and it's school holidays and the kids were asleep.

I get those calls frequently. How I respond depends on my mood. The other day I kept one of them on the line for a half-hour before I got tired of him. I signed off with 'You waste my time, I waste yours'. It was a half-hour he couldn't be scamming someone else.

I know Facebook is much maligned and usually deservedly so.

But it has once again helped Mrs. Floyd and me to locate and re-connect with a long lost friend.  In this case one who we haven't seen since 1991 in London, and we're now very much looking forward to meeting up with her in Perth in a couple of months' time.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

The groundbreaking images of the telescope and Hubble successor "James Webb" despite all the astronomical costs. ;-)

That the future is always reliably bright (even if there are and will be periods of gloom for us humans in the meantime). And should we blow up the earth, it will only be noticed millions of light years away out there - if at all. ;-)
