Heh!

What do we call it - a block? Sounds like cheese. A pat? Sounds like the other thing a cow makes!

a pound of butter

Well there's "shrinkflation" for you. A pound is 600g but a whatchamacallit of butter is only 500g these days!

I thought a pound was 454g

The pound of butter has been rounded up

You were probably thinking of the 600ml pint, which is also rounded up from 568ml. This was when they used to be in glass bottles.

Are cartons of milk 500ml or 600ml now?

Pub pints are now 500ml, I think. And a jug is a litre, not a quart.

This thread title. Life's trivial annoyances is more accurate for the stuff I post here.

Today's item: Gmail's new spinner on Android. On the plus side I predict it won't last long because those with epilepsy may be adversely affected.

The 3rd party youtube music player app I was using has stopped working. Although I guess I should be happy, as supposedly it was killed off in 2015, So I have has an extra 2 years use of it. Still bad timing with Pandora ending at the end of the month.

when someone calls it "BlueRay" instead of "Blu-ray", just read this on this forum :)

similar to someone saying "I have a DVD", or "I have a blu-ray".  when they mean "I have a dvd player", "I have a blu-ray player".

Getting charged for my 'free trial' of Apple Music. I wonder how much revenue they get from people who don't bother to request a refund?

Fake movie links on FB. It seems to be increasingly common for a clickbait site to show an image with what appears to be a "play" button. Clicking that takes you to the clickbait site, which you have to scroll through to find the actual movie link at the bottom.

When I spill food or drink on my trousers, particularly wen it lands in an 'unfortunate' place.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Purchased a bag of Friskies cat food from the supermarket. After opening it to feed the little monster, we found a coupon inside the bag. The coupon states it's only valid in the USA.

Overreach of of US law.

My solicitor just needed me to confirm that  I was not tax resident in the US in relation to monies that they are holding for a real estate transaction. Apparently, if I do not so confirm, I will be reported to the USA as needing to pay them tax.

I find it astonishing that the rest of the world did not just tell them to bu**er off when they came up with that.

America has somehow managed to force every country in the world to require financial institutions to open their books to American tax inspectors. Tell me about legislative overreach.

Lol. Reminds me of an unfortunate soap dispenser shot to the crotch a few years ago.
