:( I don't want to hear that.
When is the other star trek back? (the Orville)

As yet not renewed or cancelled, so in limbo. So even if we get a 4th season, it will be a fair time off.

It’s becoming more of a days of our lives program. Last episode terrible potential mother in law.
The Orville rocks, think Seth MacFarlane is busy on other projects so it’s on the back burner at moment.

Orville has pretty much been days of our lives from the start :)

I feel like you are forgetting anything involving Lwaxana in TNG.
Really pleased to see the return of Justified in the form of Justified: City Primeval, which started this week on Disney +.
As huge fans of the original series (six seasons in total) we'd have been in boots and all to watch it, but we've managed to get our 15-YO hooked on the original so we're watching these older episodes (also on Disney +) with him before we get onto the new series.
For those who don't know of it, Justified stars Timothy Olyphant as a jaded US Marshal (original set primarily in hicksville Kentucky; new one in Miami); it's based on an Elmore Leonard short story (whose books were also used as the basis for a wide range of films like Get Shorty, Jackie Brown, Out of Sight). While it came out quite some time ago (2010-2016) it's aged pretty well; Olyphant's fantastic, and the writing's witty and clever.

absolutely agree it is terrible. Such a shame. So much potential gone. In fact I am getting a sense they are stealing plots from the very original series.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I wouldn’t care if Strange New Worlds recycled old ideas if they made a good show. But every episode is about the characters emotions and relationships, and the “plot” of the episode is just an incidental side note.
I don’t have a problem with exploring characters emotions and relationships if it’s done well and balanced with a decent story. But the writers clearly have no idea how professional adults behave and talk to each other. Almost all the characters are portrayed with the personalities of overly emotional and/or sarcastic teenagers, yet they are meant to be officers on a military vessel.
Everyone enjoys watching a train wreck, but I might have to stop. Season 1 was ok, nothing amazing but watchable enough. But as season 2 progresses I find myself getting genuinely angry while watching, and it may be detrimental to my health!
The Orville, on the other hand, has gotten better with each season. Season 1 was a mixed bag, and had trouble balancing its humour with the more serious aspects. Season 2 was a big improvement, and thoroughly enjoyable. And I thought season 3 was just plain excellent television. A clear homage to TNG of the 80s & 90s, but in the best way.
I'm a fan of Orville, but I think you are underplaying the characters' emotional arcs, and much of the season was dedicated to them. Almost an entire season was dedicated to the robot-human relationship thing. It felt a little overdone by the end YMMV. At some stages it felt a little like Neighbours, in space.
I'm really enjoying Strange New Worlds. God forbid a franchise evolves.
Really late to this, but Black Mirror on Netflix is very good.
I am not a fan of sci-fi just for the sake of it, but the stories in this series so far (while being sci-fi ish in nature), feature more of the ethical dilemas and problems that tech has (or could have) on life.
I would go as far to say the episodes I have watched so far are very 'thought provoking'.
EDIT: Really like that each story/episode is stand alone and its not a series that drags a story on and on.

Same, about the only show I am watching on release day its great fun.
Also really enjoying Foundation on AppleTV, didn't know about a Season 2 when started watching Season 1 a month ago. First episode was a bit ropey but worth persevering with. Lee Pace is fantastic in it as the galactiv emporer.
