Secret Invasion was a disaster in my opinion. Completely unfocused tripe.

It doesn't hold up to more than a few moments of thought before all the writing and plot holes jump out. Like....how are Drax's tattoos in his DNA? Why is Emilia Clarke fighting as a human? So on and so forth. If this is the quality we're getting BEFORE the writer's strike started, the next few years will be a desolate wasteland. Still, there's a bunch of existing stuff in my watchlist I may get around to viewing over the coming years.
freitasm: Good Omens Season 2. Binge watched the whole thing last night.
Th story is not as good as the first one but they had nothing to base it on. Performances were amazing.
7.5/10
Just finished it myself. Enjoyable regardless, but dammit there better be another season because it can't end like that (wife was complaining it soured her night).
Watched the last few episodes of The Witcher.
Disjointed, confusing and disappointing.

Secret Invasion (Disney+) - 5/10
I love me a good spy-based thriller, especially one with Cold War-vibes. But that's not this show. It's a horrible mish-mash of vague ideas and poorly thought out storylines.
The basic premise of the show - a race of alien shapeshifters have infiltrated governments around the world to take over the planet - sounds like it is ripe for some intriguing stories. So how did it end up being so dull? Maybe it's exhaustion from all the Marvel content over the past decade, or the generally high-quality we've come to expect. Or maybe it was just smashed together in the hope that audiences wouldn't notice? The saving grace is that it's only 6 episodes, so it's bingeable without being bingeable. I watched it within a week, but after the first couple of episodes I just wanted to get through it (damn my need for completion!).
Samuel L Jackson is one of those guys I would watch reading the telephone book (if you can still find one). But he's all over the place here. The cast should be the strongest point here, but aside from a few scene-stealers (Ben Mendelsohn and Olivia Colman - who is always incredible), everyone falls flat. The storyline is both super obvious and pointless. I kept waiting for some sharp writing to grip me, but it never arrived. There's a plot line around episode 2 or 3 (no spoilers) which is so obvious I spotted it a mile away, yet the characters (who are supposed to be super spies) seem oblivious to it because...plot! The master plan of the villains is banal (think Pinky and the Brain - they want to take over the world!), and the method is just hand-wavey "science stuff".
It's so boring I can't even bring myself to finish the review. Bleh...
I, Claudius. Haven't watched for about 4 decades. Excellent.

Just finished the whole season of "Totally Completely Fine" c/o TVNZ+. A solid 8/10. Funny, quirky, dark and quite confronting.
Really enjoying Twisted Metal - also on TVNZ+ - we're about 1/2 way through the block of shows - 7/10
We've only got 2 episodes of Season 2 of "The Bear" on Disney +, simply one of the best shows on TV at present - 9/10

I was after a 20 minute light show before bed as I am exhausted with work and kids. The show really delivered.
Australian show about an all girls school 10 year reunion that gets stranded together for an extended period.
One of the funniest shows I have seen in years. Highly recommend.
I am finished with Hijack S1 now. Overall, I thought it was pretty decent, though I think it could have been really truly excellent with some better development.
I guess it was only a 6-hour flight.
I'm watching Twisted Metal on TVNZ+ - really, really enjoying it.
I had no idea it came from a game, but it does show at times. Fun, violent, silly and fast paced. 7/10

Twisted Metal (TVNZ+) - lots of blood and fun, really enjoyed it
Outlander (Neon) - late to the party on this series but have been trouncing through the 7 seasons and really loving it. Sadly now a wait until second 1/2 of season 7 sometime next year.
Linked to Outlander is Men in Kilts - 2 of the main actors go on a road trip. Watched season 1 a while ago where they toured Scotland, laugh out loud fun. Season 2 starts tomorrow where they tour NZ (I believe McTavish now lives in NZ). Looks like a blast also.
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
Entrapped.
Its the final series to the Trapped saga. Solid Icelandic crime drama. 8/10
