A Wrinkle in Time - Some nice visuals, but the movie itself... yikes. 3/10

Real Player One - 6/10 whilst it stuck to the basic premise of the book that's about all. CGI was fairly good, acting just good but overall a bit of a let down.

Wonder - 8/10 Great story of 10 year old against adversity. (tissues a must) Kids acting was very good. Julia Roberts being Julia Roberts and Ho Hum Owen Wilson. Having nursed kids with this condition called mandibulofacial dysostosis, which is more commonly known as Treacher Collins Syndrome, right up to their final growth spurt these kids go through hell and back. In the movie it mentions 27 surgeries at that time aged 10 he would have been in for more.

Victoria & Abdul 7/10 Pleasant little movie. Judi Dench playing QV, again, Caution, severe English racism towards non-whites. It was great to see a map of the world with all the PINK bits representing the British Empire. All of my schools had one of those even though the Empire was fading in the 50's & 60's. But I suppose the PC term now is Commonwealth.

A Quiet Place - Was really looking forward to this, and to be honest was a little disappointed. The main problem being the monsters having apparently amazing hearing (it being there primary sense), but also can't hear you breathing when they are in the same room - my cat has better hearing that that. Also some really dumb character decisions. 6/10

Ready Player One - Really enjoyed this. I haven't read the book, so can't make comparisons there. Loved all the 80s references. Visually stunning. I don't mind leaving my brain at the door when the movie is this much fun. 8/10

Now read the book (iBooks or Kindle) and you will be inundated with 80's references. As I said above, the CGI was fairly good but to more accurate I should have said animation. The film did stick to the original premise that they had to find 3 keys to win the prize but that's that as far as sticking to the original story.

Rampage - Definitely disengage your brain for this one. Big dumb fun, with an emphasis on the dumb. 4.5/10

Incredibles 2.

A bit like The Jetsons, but without the charm of Hanna Barbera.

My wife and I quite enjoyed it too. 

The Disaster Artist

Really enjoyed this; a true story about a the very weird and mysterious Tommy Wiseau. I've always considered James Franco as an underrated actor and he is outstanding in this film. 

The only negative from watching this film is that I am now going to have to track down the Room movie to watch!

The Lone Ranger (the Johnny Depp version).

Finally got around to seeing this and really enjoyed it for the first hour and a half, but felt it was way too long at two and a half hours.

The wheels may have well and truly fallen off the Johnny Depp wagon, but this film shows what a great actor he was before his demons took control.

Isle of Dogs - Animated tale in Japanese style - by Wes Anderson - sort of a kids movie (but maybe not) but quite enjoyed it as an adult - but I do like Wes Anderson films - Solid 8/10.

Took the family to see Incredibles 2 yesterday. The original is still one of my all time favourite movies.

Myself, Miss 17 and Master 15 all agreed it had the odd laugh but left disappointed, whereas my wife and Miss 10 liked it.

Didn't help we had a parent texting through the first ten minutes who then gave my wife a mouthful when we politely asked her to put the phone away.

Time for another golden oldie (hopefully). Just got a bluray of the restored A Matter Of Life And Death (no not the Wallace and Gromit version). Will probably have to watch it alone though, the rest of the family/mob/gang are so uncultured....
