Just saw Mamma Mia - here we go again.

2/10 - Benny and Bjorn must have been down to their last 100 Million to do this one, it was tragic.

Batman: The Accountant. 8/10

Didn't expect much but was totally blown away by the action. I like action

Affleck certainly wasn't like any Accountant I know :-)

Equalizer 2.  Enjoyed that as I did 1.  Denzel Washington was on Colbert recently and asked why he hasn't been in a comic book movie as a hero. He said he has never been asked but perhaps could play the father of one (Black Panther perhaps?)

And he made an amusing comment about having funded Chadwick Boseman for some advance acting classes at Oxford, when he met Boseman at the premier of Black Panther, he said, he hadn't come to see the movie but asked to be repaid for the tuition :-)

Antman and the Wasp 7/10

Enjoyable light fun fare - makes a change from the heaviness of the last few marvel movies (infinity wars, Ragnarok, GOTG2). Paul Rudd is good and the bad guys weren't out to destroy the world

The Matrix 10/10

Hadn't watched this for quite a while but it's still as fresh as the day it came out. A masterpiece from the first frame to the last.

Went to Leave No Trace at The Embassy last night. What a great film, same director as Winter's Bone. Starring Ben Foster and local girl Thomasin Harcourt Mckenzie (Miranda Harcourt's daughter, and my wife's student for years). She is utterly fantastic. What a superstar. Great Q&A with her and the director afterwards too. She is going to be HUGE.

Pacific Rim Uprising - 6.5/10 it's about what you'd expect from a sequel. The acting isn't great, the plot is ok, action, pretty good.

How It Ends - a Netflix movie starring Forest Whitaker. His name drew me in, but I found it a reasonably disappointing film overall. Boringly predictable with the protaganists stumbling from one situation to another, seemingly unable to think ahead. The writers would fit right into the Hollywood cheese factory, if they aren't part of it already. Numerous scenes throughout the movie didn't make sense in terms of the implied ending - I'd give it a 3/10.
