PBTech's Recommended Products for You !

2 graphics cards, cause I just bought a graphics card off them and really want another one, and a Threadripper, cause they're only $4600.

Amazon does that too, "we noticed you've just bought a $one-off-item, here are a dozen more you might want to get".

I left a coiled and cable-tied HDMI cable on the bedroom floor, ready to be packed to take with me on a trip.

Mrs Code threw down a bunch of laundry near the cable, then scooped it up with the clothes and very kindly put the whole lot through a full wash cycle and then into the drier. We discovered it when emptying the drier.

Was uncertain if it would be affected by the experience because I wasn’t sure whether they have some electronics inside. Apparently not - I let it dry in the sun, tested and all OK. So now I have a nice clean cable.

My tall girl has realised how good she is at netball.

She talks to us about how she can shut other players down in a very straightforward way. It’s not arrogance, just a very beautiful confidence from a child who used to tell us that she was stupid.

More than smile, this made me laugh out loud.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I can't decide whether to put this in Pets, Annoyances, or here. I will put it here.

My cat absolutely insists on accompanying me to every single toilet visit, day or night, however often or not. I cannot enter the toilet without him following. If I try to close the door, he paws at it until I let him in. Once he is inside, he doesn't do anything in particular. He just wants to be part of the event. If I do anything else, he pretty much ignores me. Only the toilet triggers him.

A Kenwood attachment with pasta matrices adapted to the solid Norwegian 5kg (bread) dough mixer to make simply your own fresh pasta (linguine, spaghetti, pappardelle and macaroni) and ramen noodles. And I love these Japanese ramen soups.

I just bought a second (out of 4700) refurbished Dell Wyse N11D thin client with an Intel Celeron J4105 for a mere 47€ (79NZD). 😋

It runs at 3W idle and has about twice the processing power of a Raspberry Pi4. Add a second 4GB SODIMM and a M.2 SATA SSD and you have an ideal, low-power fanless Home Assistant server that can easily handle 4-5 surveillance camera streams. (I use Proxmox with Home Assistant in a VM and IOTstack in a second VM on the same hardware). Recycling at his best!

Here (in Germany), there are several used IT equipment dealers that resell devices from expired leasing contracts (e.g. from large insurance companies) in perfect condition and at a reasonable price.

At the latest when you own a vacuum cleaner robot, during your absence the cat runs around freely in the apartment and you forgot to leave the bathroom door open with the litter box, you and your carpet will know afterwards what is the right door side for a cat. That's why we have a dog and not a cat. ;-)

This was without question the best part of my time coaching football, when a kid turns up one day and just "get's it".

Whether it's a simple skill or a complex pattern of play. The moment the light goes on and they realise "hey, I can do this", it's a wonderful moment.
