Gurezaemon:

After apparently arriving in NZ on Dec. 19, my package from Aliexpress was delivered today. I opened it to find another package, with an Uzbekistan Post label on it. It seems to have gone via Tashkent.

Go figure. Traveling vicariously through our Aliexpress impulse buys 😂

Which shipping career was that? I assume Cainiao Super Economy or SunYou

Oct 11: Bought item
Oct 13: Seller says item shipped
Jan 11: Item still not arrived so request refund
Jan 15: Seller suggests I should wait another 20 days
Jan 16: AliExpress steps in and judges that I should get the refund
Jan 16: AliExpress processing the refund

I thought it was AliExpress that handles the refund, not the seller? After all, the seller doesn't have my credit card details. Or does AliExpress try to get the money from the seller before they give me the refund?

When you confirm receipt of the goods, AliExpress pays the seller. I think the same applies when the order closes due to timing out. You can't open a dispute until the order has timed out or you've confirmed receipt. So I'm thinking that in all cases AliExpress would have to get the money from the seller.

Also check the original transaction as in my case they have reversed the transaction rather than issue a refund.

Oh, hey, you're right! The original transaction on my CC statement has changed from -7.50 to +7.50, so I assume that shows the transaction has been reversed. In the past I've just seen new positive amounts appear on my CC statement within a week or so of being told I'd get a refund.

Thanks!

I'm still waiting on an item which departed Country of origin on Dec 21, estimated delivery Dec 25 - Jan 01.....

Have 4 orders under the same departed date all aliexpress standard shipping had one arrive today so it does seem like that shipment has finally arrived in the country.

Update: Arrived this morning.

jjnz1: I ordered a few packages on 30th Nov. Tracking still shows 'next stop NZ customs'.

Estimated delivery was 20th Dec.

I have asked supplier to help locate, but it does look like due to the time taken it is going by boat.

It does say via airline. And it was Ali standard shipping.

Package arrived 27th Jan.

Now waiting on two keyfobs precut for my car, ordered 15th Dec, standard Ali shipping.

For me it seems to arrive quickly or never at all, despite allegedly being in the country.

Two phone cases ordered on 13th Jan arrived earlier this week. Phone case I ordered in September has never been seen, despite supposedly being in the hands of the last mile courier. I really dislike something being marked off as Confirmation Received when the time limit is up even if it's never arrived.

But they are still very cheap!

So I have had an order from September and one from November. All the items I ordered in November have arrived. Two items (small stuff, like fishing lures) from my order from September are still in transit. I have received a refund for two items at this point, one which hasn't arrived. The other has arrived yesterday after about 4.5 month and I already received the refund for it.

My more expensive items ($20+ like dash cams, Wallet, Fishing rods, kids toys etc.) arrived the fastest. All items were sent via the standard Aliexpress shipping option, which was mostly free or a few cents.

Now here's a surprise... after a long wait (no surprise there!), I received a standard grey plastic package from Shenzhen. Opened it, and inside was a standard grey plastic package from Azerbaijan. Inside that was my order.

So my order to AliExpress for NZ$1.16 (10 thermistors) + NZ$2.84 shipping was simply forwarded to Azerbaijan for fulfilment, then posted back to China (not consolidated), who then just posted it on to me.

Presumably the Chinese "seller" was clipping the ticket enough for this to be worthwhile. But why not just get the Azerbaijani seller to just ship it directly to me?

Is the delivery more reliable with UPS and Fedex, or are the delivery methods all slow?

First budget package ordered in 2021 arrived today.

Ordered on 6th January ... 27 days to arrive.

$4 item (Socket) + $1.50 China Post Ordinary Small Packet Plus postage (17-36 days)

I still got one outstanding item from November 2020 (been sitting with last mile carrier since mid-December) via Aliexpress standard shipping.

Fedex Fast about a week or slightly less on average for me.

DHL is fastest - Arrived in Auckland delivered SAME DAY to Wellington that's what i call "Excellence Simply Delivered" Can be as little as 3 days

UPS passes on to NZPOST/Post Haste once it arrives usually goes via AU but still fast week ish
