There's a state called "Oklahoma"??? Wait... they made that name up, for a musical. You know like Brigadoon.

No... No... It's a real state. Best known for ... having the first parking meter in the world and having a highway that let's you get to ... WAIT a gosh darn minute. There's a state called "Arkansas"!!!

NZ-Dutch company Dawn Aerospace sells its first spaceplane: RNZ

New Zealand-Dutch company Dawn Aerospace has reached a major milestone by selling its first spaceplane.

The company has signed a US$17 million ($28m NZD) agreement to supply its Mk-II Aurora rocket-powered aircraft to the US state of Oklahoma.

Under the deal, Dawn would provide the vehicle and everything needed to operate it, like ground support equipment, licensing, creating a support team, and parts and servicing.

The aircraft would be based at the Oklahoma Air and Space Port, with delivery scheduled for 2027 and manufacturing to take place in Christchurch.

Oklahoma bill would fine, jail drag queens for public performances

I mean, "Kansas" was already made up by the Wizard of Oz people, so obviously "Arkansas" was just an attempt to avoid a trademark violation while being reminiscent of the name. I'm sure it's pronounced just how it's spelt.

Behodar:

This is a bit of a long one, but I felt like sharing the pain 😁

At work, we've recently replaced an old document management system with a "new and improved" one. It's been a bit of a ride.

...

Sounds very much like a certain City Council I was working for a few years ago, who also "upgraded" their document management system and suffered through many issues.

Just received the below message in my Messages App in iPad. It came from three phone numbers, all in the one message. Wondering what kind of a new scam this is. Reported and deleted but annoyed they have my phone number. NB I don’t have a CV online. Brilliantly tempting job offer though that is certain to elicit responses from the unwary.

*Hello, sorry to bother you! I'm Millie from Seek. your CV has been recommended by several online recruitment agencies, so we‘d like to offer you a remote job where you can earn NZ$250-350 per day, working 60 - 90 minutes per day at a time and place of your choosing (paid on the same day). Paid annual leave 5 to 15 days. But please note: (you must be at least 20+). If you are eligible and want more information, please reply with a ‘YES’.

That really needed sarcasm tags around it.  ;-)

Too late to respond as when reported it blocks and deletes the message.

However have found a brilliant way of getting an immediate response from daughter instead of one three hours later. I sent it to her and said I had applied.

Someone in the office was just talking about when she sent an online greeting card.

"Your card has been delivered!"

Eighteen months later: "The recipient has read your card!"

Well, I suppose it's good that he read it eventually...

Water has been turned off, not supposed to be until Monday for pipe replacement at the end of our street.

What, so four days without water? Hope you can reverse this idiocy before they all go on holiday.

If this was me it would have been in the Annoy thread with enough cursing and swearing to get me banned from GZ for life.
