The old man starts off well as a spy action thriller but dithers here and there with metaphysical musings about identity, self and other blah blah as it heads to its' inevitable conclusion.

However, the inevitable conclusion I anticipated did not materialise. I was left feeling a bit empty and unresolved. I didn't shout at the TV or throw a slipper because there were others in the room, but I felt like it.

7/10

Ending 2/10

Season 2 has been spruiked as coming in "Fall '24" , so that's sometime after September,

- Agreed that it didn't really end the first season well, but they had all sorts of production issues with Jeff Bridges being treated for Cancer, and while he was undertaking Chemo he got COVID.... - and this was in 2020/21 when COVID was killing people of his age left and right....

Ahh interesting. I guess it has been left wide open for season 2.

Looking forward to Fallout on Prime. Coming in mid-April.

Will be interesting to see how well they adapt it - if it's anywhere near as good as Twisted Metal, I am sure to enjoy it.

Quantico on Disney.

I think it's an old series. Loved the twists from the "who done it" side of things.

Didn't enjoy the dual time line hopping back and forth. Annoying.

Binge watched 3 seasons. Enjoyed it.

Still slogging through Season 4 of The Man in the High Castle on Prime

It's gotten a bit sillier, but also a bit more dramatic.

I'm certainly not enjoying this season as much as the previous couple

Whilst searching for the first episode of Fallout on Prime, I noticed a Martin Clunes comedy series entitled Reggie Perrin

One assumes it's a reboot of The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin of GROT fame.

It looks like it's from 2009. How did I not know that this existed? I loved the original series. I am sure Clunes would be perfect to reboot the Reginald Perrin character.

Anyone seen it?

UFO (1969-71) YouTube

I stumbled across a series from the early seventies UFO. It’s on YouTube and has the complete run of 26 episodes in colour and HD.

As a kid it was my favourite TV series. From Gerry and Sylvia Anderson (Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, etc) it was their first series using human actors rather than ‘supermarionation’.

I guess some allowance needs to be made for the fact that manned space flight was in its infancy and Apollo 11 was flown while the series was being made.  But I couldn’t help but be distracted by the gentle lunar breeze wafting the rocket smoke away from the vehicles (which sounded like they were diesel powered) or a submarine that seemed to need hug the bottom of the ocean, or aircraft that seemed to defy the laws of aerodynamics (just like TB2).
The acting was average (to be generous) and the storylines pretty simple and I can’t help but think that maybe a primary sponsor was a tobacco company because every second scene included someone lighting up a cigarette or cigar. It probably wouldn’t pass even the mildest of DEI scrutiny today. How things have changed in 50+ years!

I had intended to only watch the final episode, which I missed as a kid (no vcrs), but ended up watching all 26 episodes. I’ve now started on Space 1999 which was originally going to be called “UFO:1999”.

Nice find & top quality HD too, thanks.

A YouTuber called Full_Strength_Beer is where I found the complete sets. (UFO and Space 1999 as well as other Anderson products).

Ahhhh, purple wigs and silver catsuits and miniskirts. What else would one wear on the moon?

I still have a couple of original Matchbox UFO toys: an Interceptor, APV and Ed Striker’s white car.

Never knew of UFO until now but our kids did get to watch Stingray, Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet thanks to DVD box sets from their uncle.

I didn't realise until today that I grew up on Gerry Anderson entertainment.

I also didn't realise how lucky my brother and I were to have so many of the cool toys that accompanied our favourite sghows.

We've still got old and battered (well played-with) Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO and Space 1999 toys.
The only shows we didn't have toys from were Joe 90 and Stingray, but we were huge fans of the shows.

My absolute favourite was UFO, though. I loved it back in the day (the day being the 1970's).

Oh - on a "what did you watch" note:
I took in episode one of Fallout yesterday on Prime.

It more than lived up to the hype. I am looking forward to the remaining 7 episodes - all of which are available to binge now.
