It looks like I gave the Herald too much credit. I tried to look at a couple of premium pages and couldn't read past the first few words. I then checked the HTML and couldn't see anything there either. I assumed the text had been moved off-site and the Herald finally had a decent paywall. Now it looks like it may have just been errors on the pages I happened to look at. That would be more in keeping with the Herald's track record.
