the big issue I have with Lotto and Scratches is the vast majority of tickets are faulty.

Just downloaded this to have a look. If you don't allow the app access to your location, it won't work at all. If you have an app that can buy the tickets, why would you use said app to direct you to your nearest Lotto store? And regardless, I will never use that feature and don't like giving apps more access than they actually need.

EDIT: It says it has to do this to conform to Apples terms and conditions as the app is only allowed to be used in NZ.

Could be worse. Check out the installation instructions for a Lotto app for our cuzzies over the ditch.

Pretty sure the first time I heard of a NZ Lotto app, it wasn't in the Google Play store and I had to download the APK (that is, if I wanted it .. I didn't and still don't)

And again with the lotto spam! This time I know I unsubscribed just the other day. Pretty sure it's illegal at this point, I need to hunt down which ombudsmen or whatever to report them to.

Just type antispam into google, and the DIA anti spam site should popup.  Although not sure how effective it is these days, as I have never heard anything back to the last couple I sent in the last year. I believe they do have a few weeks to remove you from their mailing list after you have unsubscribed.

Good Lord @Rikkitic! How old are you? It seems that every other day I check here there is a new cloud you are yelling at. Lotto will send you e-mail until you unsubscribe. Make sure you do this from your account online so you catch them all. If you still receive them then contact Lotto to let them know. This isn't tough to figure out on your own and there is nothing wrong with Lotto in this instance and everything wrong with you failing to configure your e-mail preferences correctly.

FWIW I am also SURE I'm unsubscribed, and I'm still receiving the emails.

I have sent then a message via their "contact us" option and i will also be lodging a complaint with DIA.

I guess I'm not the only one then. Actually, I thought this thread had come to a conclusion some time ago.

I just got another one and I know beyond any doubt that I unticked every box on the page. I will be joining PaulBags and submitting an official complaint. This is not something I am imagining or making up and since it involves gambling in particular, and there are people who have genuine problems with that, I think it needs to be stopped.

I used the app to scan my brothers paper ticket, then got an email the next day telling me how awesome I was for scanning a ticket with the app and advertising the next draw.

I 100% already had everything set to be unsubscribed.

Up until then I had had nothing.

EDIT: Actually I misread it. The email is congratulating me for signing up to play "2nd Chance". I didn't sign up for anything new, all I had done was scan a ticket to see if it had won anything.

EDIT 2: So just had a look, this "2nd Chance" thing is to do with Instant Kiwis. So apparantly using the app to scan a Lotto ticket automatically signed me up for this Instant Kiwi "2nd Chance" service, and sent me spam about it even though I was unsubscribed from everything.

I was on the initial band wagon that the OP just hadn't unsubscribed from everything, I have changed my tune now.

Thank you for the support Paul1977. Maybe people will stop jumping all over me now. I complained for a reason and I think it was a valid one.

I contacted them via their form last night. I received an automated email this morning stating that someone had edited my profile. Here's hoping they've fixed it.

Recommend people contact them the same way. More complaints might mean they fix it for everyone.

I had the "Unsubscribe All" box ticked (I know for sure because I screen grabbed for post 3 of this thread), then after I received the spam yesterday when I looked at the settings that box was unticked.

So my settings had changed without me changing them.

Yes, that also happened to me. I hope everyone (@UHD) who thinks I am a drama queen is still reading this.
