The old logo was quite conservative and represented Mediaworks as a leader in news and current affairs where their rivals TVNZ, NZME and Fairfax had been going down the tubes for some time. Their new logo is all over the place, and represents the unstoppable decline that Mark Weldon spearheaded.
I was always loyal to Mediaworks, Canwest and their predecessors as I considered them to be industry leaders and pioneers, but those days are over. I am not interested in entertainment content and the only quality news and current affairs left on TV3 is taxpayer funded The Nation - I no longer watch anything else.
Fortunately we have a resurgent Radio NZ and the gradual launch of Mark Jennings' promising new project Newsroom. This replaces the news and current affairs that I used to enjoy from 3News, Campbell Live and 3rd Degree.
