Is the website loading properly for anyone?

On both my computers (and tried the latest Safari and Firefox) I just get a shell with no content. Doesn't even work on my phone which have 0 ad blockers (which I also disabled to test the site on the Desktop)

After ages, sometimes a big TV banner will fill the slightly lighter rectangle.

Live TV is well dying now.  Rebranding like this, with all that they did re the afternews shows etc, just feels like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.

TV channels pretty much exist based on advertising costs, based on the premise that they have a captive audience to put your message in front of.  Several studies have shown power and water consumption went up during the add breaks, but TV companies don't want to admit that people don't watch the ads.  Nowadays it's even easier to fast forward through them, even if freeview approved units have a full skip feature removed.

Like radio, I just don't see how they will keep going as they have been moving forward.  Especially as generations move forward and the likes of youtube and Netflix become more prevalent.

morning rant over now, sorry...

I don't understand who thought calling it +HR=E made any sense. Oh well, it's been years since they've had anything worth watching anyway.

 Pretty horrible logo.

But thinking about it, I cannot remember what it replaced, so it cant have been very memorable. I can remember their inital logo from 30 years ago (or whenever it launched - late 80s anyway).

Going to look it up now...

Ah - yes, the three squares... I remember now.

I see hints of the Google logo in there. Especially when I focus on the white space.

This would have been an improvement.

It's working at my house. But the shows......terrible.

Plus they are still dead to me after what they did to their news department and Campbell Live.

When I access the website it says my  browser is out of date and  to update for the best experience.  It was updated yesterday to Opera 43.0.2442.806.

Van never understand why when they were set up the called themselves  TV3 .  Just playing follow the leader from TVNZ.  With NBC being a partner I would have thought  they could have thought of something more creative..

Regards,

Found out my issues, it's because my DNS provider (opendns) blocks secure-nz.imrworldwide.com as it has it marked as an Adware domain.

Yeah it works for me after also complaining that my updated Opera is out of date and forcing me to disable my ad blocker, but I can't imagine why I would ever want to watch anything on it. Also for me, TV3 died when it gutted what once was a pretty decent news and current events service.

I agree with the comments that live TV, especially commercial live TV, is dying anyway, but TVNZ will be the last to go. Any remaining ad revenue will be placed there as the pond dries up. TV3's 'strategy' of trying to be a TV One clone is just stupid, unimaginative, slow suicide.

I was going to try watch one of there ondemand shows:

  • but I needed to login first
  • then needed to reset my password
  • which doesn't work since it wants me to enable thirdparty cookies - I have them disabled, and for good reason(ad network tracking)
  • I gave up.

Edit, they also redirect you to the non https site if you try watch something with https, and thus force you to login via an insecure page... terrible for people who re-use passwords and happen to be using not so safe internet, here I was thinking this was 2017.

They make it way to hard + they really should fix the secure-nz.imrworldwide.com issue, I can't be the only one who has it blocked.
