Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire (acoustic cover by Tijana & Branko)LIVE!

I am not a fan of the original but that isn't too bad. Cheers.

For Chris Knox fans I'd recommend Jordan Luck's version of Becoming Someone Other.  I aways liked the original, but prefer the cover.

Just posted to YouTube ~30mins ago. Impressive cover. Violet's voice is very good.

The Killers - Electric Blue

This seems to be on my favs of covers at the moment.  He seems to capture the feel of the song and sings it so effortlessly!

Also This cover of Gone off the1997 U2 album Pop is fantastic

So. Many. I love it when a cover/remake completely changes the energy of a song.

Gunship's cover of Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time and Lissie covering Danzig's Mother are two that come to mind recently for me.

Might not technically fit, but since it's heavily featured in my queue atm, Rise Against's Ghost Note Symphonies Vol.1. The Violence and House on Fire are such raw songs sung acoustically.

Bonus track: The Offspring doing Joe Exotic's "Here Kitty Kitty". I see the original has gone due to a copyright claim though.

This suddenly reminded me of another one of my favourite covers, Torre Florim of De Staat cover of Prodigy's Firestarter

Let's try again. All my YouTube links were lost after editing.

While there are many, many more examples where I prefer the original version over covers, here are a few of my favourite covers:

Styx - I Am The Walrus

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah (Honourable mention to Rufus Wainwright for his cover too)

Guns N' Roses - Live And Let Die

Herman's Hermits - Wonderful World

Inner Circle - The Games People Play (Not necessarily better than the Joe South version, I enjoy both)

Los Lobos - La Bamba

Manfred Mann - Blinded By The Light

Freddie Mercury - I Can Hear Music

Dixie Chicks - Landslide

The Carpenters - Ticket To Ride

BONUS. Songs I hate, but particularly enjoy specific versions of...

Maverick Choir - Amazing Grace

Alan Slater - God Defend New Zealand

@freitasm

This has happened to me a couple of times as well. Is there a bug in the editor?

Anything by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Hearing 1960s/70s easy listening music played with a little more electric guitar and drums than originally intended is brilliant.

And it's pretty hard to beat Steve'n'Seagulls cover of Thunderstruck, currently sitting at 110M views.

Oh, and what Laibach do to bands like Queen and Opus.

makes the song almost bearable, which, with this song takes some skill .

Big fan of the Gimme Gimmes. Their cover of Kristofferson's Sunday Morning Coming Down is pure gold.
