where the hell do they all hide....do they burrow ?

They hide in the bush during the day in thick vegetation and in little hidey holes under logs.  I don't think they burrow but I'm not 100% sure.  Being a marsupial they don't need a 'nest' for breeding purposes.

You don't often see those little dama wallabies very far from the bush line.  Typically, you find them in a paddock bordering bush.

The Bennett's roam much further from the bush.  They are often in tussock country, so there is quite a bit of ~750mm high cover.  Despite being a sizeable animal (~15kg) they hide quite well with small amount of cover.
