scottlilly:
A cool chick that's got a good personality and a great sense of humour - good looking too :) likes the outdoors/sporty and of coarse is into her movies, I like to injoy a good DVD or Blu-Ray some evenings - I'm hoping she would be too.

That's my answer to your question :)

You'd better hope that spelling and punctuation aren't on her list then, C-Dawg. ;)

I always considered a nice evening walk down the beach, or beside a river, or through some locked-up public parks to be the height of romance. I was shot down a while ago when I said this to a friend and she said that a walk on the beach was the most over-used cliché in the world and she found it unimaginative. She's single, I think I know why. Then again, so am I, so I can't really say much.

Haha I was in a rush Scott! Laughing

No but seriously I'll have to agree with you on that one - I don't think any girl would turn down a walk on the beach (you forgot to mention during sunset) and the best thing about it is, it doesn't cost a thing!

haha

Kaos36: I use to be very romantic in my younger days I'm in my late 30s, but i was the romantic gent, open car doors send roses on her birthdays tell her how great she looks and i meant it. Now though Ive harden up where my romantic ways went out the window years ago. As far as i care woman can open their own door! lol.

hehe... I suppose that's the way it goes... :)

@scotlilly, well it is a bit unimaginative but as cgrew said that's a winner whatever any girls says... there's nothing more cliche than that yer it works every single time... girls are suckers: just tell them whatever they want to hear and you'll have them around your finger... hahahah... :)))

Crea:  (edit)...that's the beauty of communicating with different kinds of people on different sides of the planet- you get to know how people think :)

OK so now I'm confused...
It may be an oxymoron (I feel I'm allowed to use that word) to suggest that 'thinking' and 'romance' are in anyway related.  We are still talking about Kiwi males here right????

I see why are you puzzled... the sentence you quoted was my reaction to what you said earlier in a discussion about how I shouldn't go around asking these kinds of questions :)

...and in an odd way- for everything I've read here so far there's a reasonable doubt for linking "reason" and "romance" with Kiwi men... if they're really that pragmatic I don't see any reason not to think that...

...further on, I think romance is not something spontaneous... you have to know what are the other person's likes or dislikes and taking that in consideration you act upon it... also, it has to be something that you have in common... if that's not the case, one of you will get bored and there goes your romance ;)

haha Crea i just looked at your profile your from Yugoslavia! Im Croatian but born and bred in New Zealand. Back in the 1920s many Yugoslavians came to NZ and brought farms or worked as gum diggers. Gum was like gold back then. My grandfather came from Spit or is it Split? You should know what i mean thou, came to NZ worked for 7 years and brought two farms, then went back and got the family. Many Yugoslavian men married Maori woman like my father did back then. Anyways you would be surprise how many dallies live in NZ.

Ive never been to Yugoslavia but im aiming to one day.

I don't think you would be very interested in my findings but I did some field research and this is what I concluded: 2 out of 5 Kiwi men are to be considered romantic in a stereotypical sense (flowers, long walks on the beach...) and 3 out of 5 in a non-stereotypical sense :) ...I found out that non-romantic Kiwis, who are just interested in sex or to say fooling around are very rare... most of Kiwi men are very family orientated even at you age (20-25) and are one-woman men :)

...any opinions now? :)

...oh and, I've watched "Once Were Warriors" and I must say I'm even more in love with NZ :D ...damn you, you're irresistible ;)

Your sample size is obviously too small for any kind of statistically valid conclusion. You need to do more research :-p

I took my wife to the Trade Me Birthday party, and dinner afterwards. I am not Kiwi. Does it make more romantic?
