Kopkiwi: Anyone have any idea on what the mark up on blu-rays is? We looking at $5 off? $10? More?

About the only thing I am interested in after buying a new Sony 55ex500 last week and Yamaha 667, though I wish I could get the 767 now lol.

I don't imagine PS3 games have much mark up on them?

Oh yeah, that's another thing I asked about:

Kef speakers and the yamaha amps

most KEFs aren't in stock and won't be for a week or two

Yamaha amps are all run out models and they pretty much have no more left :(

There is a nice 3D Onkyo reciever in there for $496 though

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

I am up in Kelburn, but hit up JBHifi in the BNZ centre, the guy there was telling me they had no KEF or Yamaha gear left :( and the Onkyo stuff that was reduced was already below cost price

So I ended up in Tory Street, Harvey Norman :)

This is the Amp for $446:

What kef gear are you referring to? The satellite speakers?

Yeah I wanted a pair of the KEF 2005 egg speakers to complement my other ones :(

They have one floor model only, and the iQ70 floorstanding are sold out. Looks like there might be a set of C5s though, but haven't heard good things about the C5 series

get the floor model? They'd be just fine I'm sure.

Wonder if I go in there straight after work (4:30) with my voucher, they will honor it? Be a dog to have to go home and come back.

I went to it last year, grabbed a yamaha HT amp and floor standing speakers for around $750 all up. At the time, they were usually selling the speakers by themselves for $1000.

Well worth it IMO!

Agreed. When I was buying home theatre gear for my new house in January this year, I went to JB Hifi and got a Panasonic P50V20Z for $2000 and the Jamo S606 speaker pack with a 250W subwoofer for $1300. Harvey Norman were charging $3K for the TV alone. JB's regular price on the Jamo 5.1 speaker pack was about $1900, and when I looked at price matching with the local specialist store, they reckoned $1300 was well below cost, because they wouldn't even be able to sell me the front floorstanders for that price. Very happy with that deal!

Remember, JB is making huge losses in NZ because they want to undercut everyone else and gain market share. These competitive prices won't last. They will eventually have to increase their prices.

In the meantime, enjoy it!

I am heading over at 5:30pm tonight, not sure why because I have nothing in mind I want but you never know!

i called them earlier, i live 1.5 hours away from the closest jb hifi store. i was trying to negotiate if i could come a bit early to get what i need. unfortunately, they said no. however, they were kind enough to check the 'sale' price for few items that i am planning to buy. from that information, i decided the trip is worth it

Yeah you gotta ask, they print off a PDA receipt :)

You can however go in before 6pm, get something put on hold after asking the price and take it then. Glad I'm going home at 5pm though :) no waiting round or queues
