Just watched Hitman... I will give it 6/10. Perhaps 0.5 more because you get to see Olga Kurilenko naked...

Watched The Brothers Bloom. Regardless of the good rating at IMDB I wouldn't give it 5/10.

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Another Nazi Germany war story, this time from the perspective of an 8 year old boy - not quite as powerful as The Pianist apart from the last 10 minutes which will blow you away.

Just watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind in Blu-Ray. Always interesting. I remember seeing it in the cinema when it was launched back in 1977. Very cool.

Wow. Melinda Dillon was born in 1939.

Taking of Pelham 123.
Quite watchable. My usual rating for films is based on how often I check my watch during the film. Pelham 123 was a one-checker, which means I was interested in it most of the time.
Don't expect tons of action, but the highly implausable "chase" scene was amusing.

Julie and Julia. It was okay, nothing special but I did enjoy it. Meryl Streep over acted. Quite a long film (123 minutes) which is always nice. Interesting that it includes Mary Lynn Rajskub who was also with the main actress in Sunshine Cleaning.

Couple Retreat. Funny, with some good moments. A bit forgettable. The location is good though. 6.5/10

Kungfu Hustle in Blue ray, love this movie, so far over the top it's hilarious

Xmen origins Wolverine, 3.5 out of 10. Badly scripted, some very bad acting in places and combined with bad special effects and some origin changes for Mr Wolverine it brought the movie down.

We played spot the green/blue screen game and in the first 30 minutes to an hour there must of been atleast 8 or 9.

Alot like the first Xmen when they were in the statue of liberty and you could see the"metal" bands were actually rubber and in some close ups you could see the rubber showing through the paint ;-)

Compare it to the Watchmen the special effects are miles apart. We watched the watchmen straight after. Speaking of the Watchmen kind of a boring for the most part, and not alot like the comic strip. Although when the storline did get going it made for an okay watch. Overall it was a nicely polished film look wize, attention to detail in most scenes although Dr Manhatten in some scenes wasnt done that well. but I'll give that movie a 7.5/10.

Drag Me To Hell - whoaaaa!! Scared the bejeepers out of me! Maybe my nerves are getting a bit old but that was one scary suspenseful horror movie!

Tried to see Dean Spanley last night but was so tired couldn't finish it. I was surprised to see it was a New Zealand production too - I always thought it was British.

Also Star Trek (2009) is now on iTunes - downloaded and watched straight away as soon as it was released. Still very good.
