Crackhead (2026) - TV Three / ThreeNow - 9/10

This is simply one of the most amazing, and original, shows I've seen in a long time. It isn't always an easy watch, and to be honest it can be a bit of an emotional roller-coaster. Terrific to see something like this come out of NZ, and I'm sure Holly Shervey will be up for a bunch of awards for this, both at home and internationally.

Detective Hole. [Netflix]if you have read the Jo Nesbo novels you know what to expect and Jo Nesbo has also written the script so it is faithful to the books. But this is a violent, dark Nordic Noir and it will not suit some people and you should probably not watch it if at all depressed. 8/10

Marshals, it was so bad we stopped watching after second episode.

Godless, limited series 9.5/10 I asked chatGPT what to watch next based on liking The Queen's Gambit and Adolescence, it suggested this. I see it has been mentioned here a long time ago. Released in 2017 and I will watch it again. Great cinematography and settings. Very strong characters and acting.

Just started Peaky Blinders and enjoying it so far.

The new Malcolm in the Middle. Saw it got good reviews in The Guardian and they were right, its manically excellent.

I mentioned DeadLoch Season 1 which had a very strange start but like most Australian Dramas got better and better.

Season 2 is shaping up well after 2 episodes

Madeline Sami has one of the foulest mouths I've ever heard, and I swear like a sailor :)

To be honest, I was 50/50 after the first episode, but having finished this season, it would be fair to say that the wife and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what the Mam's got up to once again.

I look forward to a third season (assuming there will be one).

Farscape - 4 seasons + "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars". 8/10

Been long overdue a re-watch and whilst there are a few duff episodes I'd forgotten just how great this show was. It could easily be picked up for a follow up given the way the show wrapped up.

Farscape was wonderful. Some great, season-long storylines, with the animatronic characters so well done that you don't even notice after a few minutes. A pretty solid tongue-in-cheek sense of humour as well.

Browncoats unite - We've just started our re-watch of Firefly on Disney+

TBH the opening episode is still stunning. It is still shocking that it was cancelled and I'm very pleased to hear there are plans for a revival. If you're a fan of the show re-watch on Disney+ to get their streaming numbers up.
