By the account in the paper, it was Ben Francis's error, but this person refuses to refund legal costs?

What an insensitive, unfair person.

She should go to the Disputes Tribunal and get her money back.

And well done to the person who donated her the money to stop this non-sense.

Ben Francis is a dick - short and simple.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Metric. It‘s 1 egg, more or less. 🤣

Something to tell your favorite person in the world on Mother's day:

A quokka named Flo from Down Under,
Told her joey, "Now don’t make me blunder.
If danger draws near,
You’re my projectile, dear
Evolution’s a riot, no wonder!"

Check out this job's listing company's name, RoboMate - Time for Life.

Hmmm... Maybe it is time to join a up-and-coming company.

https://nz.seek.com/job/91852899

Position doesn't reflect what I thought the company manufactured. The ad also helped with some of the heavy lifting.

"We started out selling robotic vacuum cleaners"

"Customer service is truly in our DNA."

That did answer one of my questions.

"Don’t be surprised if you are stopped from time to time and asked about what we could do for them."

With a company name like "robomote" branding alone raises curiosity.

Maybe they should add this disclaimer

“'RoboMate' is our company name and does not reflect our actual activities. Any interpretations, assumptions, or imaginative scenarios you create based on the name are entirely your own. Any resemblance to real robots, companions, or futuristic scenarios is coincidental and not endorsed by the company. The manufacturer does not assume responsibility for injuries resulting from improper operation, or use of the equipment for purposes other than mowing. The user agrees to operate the equipment in accordance of all applicable laws."

Depending upon the circumstances, either a useful or very annoying card feature.

TLDR: Systems are in place that allow merchants to be automatically notified when a bank issues a replacement payment card.

You'd think that someone who is a 'respected' rugby referee would have a sense of fairness:

Microsoft strikes again!

Visual Studio warning message, paraphrased: You're not using Syntax X. See [url] for more information.

I go to the URL and get 17 pages of documentation. I search for "syntax".

"If you don't use Syntax X then you'll get a message saying that you're not using Syntax X."

That sentence is the only mention of "syntax" on the entire page. They call this "more information"?

Except, it seems, when it comes to doing the right thing which probably involves parting with his money.

The response from the practitioner looks like some kind of due diligence defense, so there may or may not be strict liability defined. The practitioner will undoubtedly have some kind of insurance to cover odd cases. I've heard liability insurance sometimes requires no admission and requires legal action of some kind to initiate that side of the process.

Disputes tribunal might be the most cost effective to start that off. Community law advice can be useful, and might lead to engaging a lawyer.

I am not a lawyer. But it occurs to me if there is no strict liability then perhaps some other form of insurance should be mandated for receivership processes. The reputation risk in the social media age seems high regardless.

No, seriously. Today's business models seem to increasingly treat the consent of the data subject as merely "optional."

I think you're right! They've consistently referred to the Monday deliveries as "this weekend's delivery" for several years, yet this week they sent out emails saying that "weekend deliveries" (Saturdays) are now available.

I feel like I'm going slightly mad.

I have been seeing this for a while on my monthly recurring Apple subscriptions.

Seems that Apple don't like Amazon Prime Video, as they insist on calling it "Unavailable" and "Discontinued" even though it still works.
