I have been rewatching NYPD Blue. Not sure why. I'm enjoying it. Not sure I'll make it twelve seasons.

Re watching Shakespeare & Hathaway pending the release of the new series. I enjoy this lighthearted very British crime show.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

The new spin off from Yellowstone, Dutton Ranch (Neon, Sky Go) with Beth and Rip and the boy (forget his name) is good so far! I quit watching the other one about Casey and Tate after a few episodes. That one was pretty bad, I talked about why up thread somewhere. Looking forward to seeing the story progress.

I assume finishing Yellowstone is a prerequisite?

yeah, like marshalls it's post yellowstone....

I'm late to the party on both of these but I'm really enjoying

Falling Skies on NF (scifi - post alien invasion apocalypse)

and Animal Kingdom on NF (family organised crime drama, cast includes Ellen Barkin from who starred in The Big Easy and Leila George)

Recently watched Dutton Ranch E1. Was mentally prepared for it to be so-so - like you I thought Marshalls was terrible and I only watched one episode.

However I thought DR was very good and also like you I’m looking forward to more.

STEPHEN COLBERT—"ONLY IN MONROE" (MAY 22, 2026 FULL SHOW)

"Exactly 24 hours after Stephen Colbert signed off from "The Late Show" on CBS for the very last time on May 21, 2026, a small community show episode mysteriously appeared on a Michigan Public-Access station without warning—hosted by none other than Stephen Colbert. Eleven years after his first episode of "Only In Monroe," which was released on July 1, 2015 (just prior to the start of his The Late Show run at CBS), Colbert's second turn as host of the local public-access show perfectly bookended his historic run on late-night television. By the way, you can find his first episode on our channel (it should be right next to this one).

In many ways, this (final?) episode was the most hysterical example of Stephen's natural humor, delivery, timing and wit. It harkens back to his wonderful lo-fi back-office episodes from the pandemic era and will leave you in stitches if you pay attention and go with the flow.

This episode features many surprise guest appearances and even gets local guest talent involved in the presentation. Michiganders Jack White, Jeff Daniels, Steve Buscemi and Eminem (Marshall Mathers) also make surprise guest appearances in the episode. And Byron Allen, who took over Colbert's former CBS slot with the all-new "Comics Unleashed," also made an appearance via FaceTime, reaffirming that there is no bad blood between the two—only love and respect.

Stephen also engages hilariously with Monroe County locals, such as the regular hosts of "Only In Monroe," Michelle Baumann and Kaye Lani Rae Rafko Wilson. Monroe Community Media's Creative Director for "Only In Monroe" Genevieve Benson also (inadvertently) engaged comedically with the show, as she tried in vain to enforce station rules while catering to Stephen's every need and whim. Additionally, local businesses like River Raisin Distillery provided some liquid courage for the cast; and rival hot dog joints “Monroe’s Original” and “Vince’s" were also dragged into the show narrative to make Stephen's second visit to the public access show truly historic, once again."

Legends via Netflicks 9/10

Really enjoyed this 6 part British series.

Set in the 80's - customs is tasked with investigating and infilrating drug smuglers.
But goven basically no money so they recruit untrains staff from with-in.

Sound like it is based onsome truth and  a book written by one of the staff involved.
Enjoyable series regardless.

If you like British crime and/or police dramas well worth watching.

I recently finished watching Dark Winds on SBS. Robert Redford was involved in getting this series off the ground and I greatly enjoyed the Native American perspective and the unusual writing. It gives a good sense (to an outsider, at least) of what life is like on a modern reservation while also serving as an engaging police series. There is some consciousness raising but it never takes over. The last episode of series 4 was a bit over the top for my taste and I found the portions located in Los Angeles less compelling but I am looking forward to the next installments in Season 5. I give it an 8 out of 10.

At the conclusion of White Lotus, we (the great and lovely Mrs Handsome) decided to take a chance on Young Sherlock on one of the streaming services (can't recall which one).

It's shot and framed in a typical Guy Ritchie way and has a modern Brit Rock soundtrack, which actually appeals to me.

We're both quite enjoying it to be honest - had zero expectations and with it being Rated 13, it wasn't going to be too much for the old gal, who doesn't like uber-violent or bloody stuff.

5 episodes in; so far so good.

Your Friends & Neighbors S1 and S2 (what has been released so far - still 2 eps to come). Jon Hamm is good in everything I've seen him in, and does well with both drama and comedy. Has been renewed for S3. 8/10

Rooster S1, also very good and has been renewed for S2. 8/10

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms S1. A bit late to this. A short story and decidedly un-epic in scope, but very well written and well made. 7.5/10

I just binged on "Run Away" by "Harlan Coben"

The most over-used phrase is "I only did it to protect you", this was used to justify multiple deceptions. It is effectively a catch-phrase like "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids".

I did like the PI, once you understood why she was kidnapping dogs.
