Nope, haven't forgotten. That's a bit of a bummer. I think I'm happier with the 6 cell battery than I would be with the 280 though. Unless there's something serious I'm missing?

The first thing i notcied was that it had the n270, i told the salesguy that he'd be getting some grief from the whiners about that, but like Jayaldous i'd much rather have the 6 cell than the tiny performance increase that you get with the n280. Either way its going to be a slug compared to a real laptop or desktop, but for netsurfing and taking notes in lectures the difference = 0 for me.
Its a matt screen and a textured case. not a fan of the textured case, would probably prefer the shiny case myself, but glad of the matt screen.

Does it have Bluetooth? I've seen conflicting reports.
Bluetooth is more important to me than the 802.11n it has over the HP machine. Being able to use a phone as modem and access the internet is the primary reason for this, I didn't really want to carry a data cable...

Installed software: MS works MS office 60 day trial Skype Adobe Reader 8 A few Asus things. A link to install Norton Internet Security if you feel like crippling your Eee.
I think installing an extra gig of ram would have more performance benefits than the n280, and thats probably the only upgrade this will get unless the hard drive dies, then it'll be a 7200rpm drive or an SSD if they have come down in price.
Compared to the HP we have lost: Card reader for Memory stick, MS pro and XD. A bit of HP software (mostly irritating stuff that most of us would delete anyway i'm guessing) the n280 performance

It would appear the answer is no.. hitting Fn F2 just toggles the wireless on/off, the manual suggest this would also toggle bluetooth on/off if it was installed. I guess thats what the N/A on the specs list on the box refers to.
This is a bit of a bugger, that would have been useful. Guess we'll just have to get one of those tiny bluetooth USB dongles. ($15 or so on trademe, i can live with that)

Remember XP home can only access 1gb of ram, you'll need to put on XP pro or 7 for a performance benefit from the increased memory
Is there actually a limit coded into windows? Or is it just specified by MS that no netbook can ship with more than 1GB with Xp home sp3?
Since I plan on dual booting anyway i'm not too worried, if its limited in code in windows i'll either find a registry hack or spend more time in linux.
