Who buys just one new tyre?

People on a tight budget who need one to get a warrant.

Auto-correct is why I have crust issues.

I bet that is a tiny percentage, if budget was a factor they would probably get a second hand tyre to get them through.

I don't drive much, and I seem to only need to replace tyres about every 18 months. I only do one at a time.

Obviously one data point doesn't mean much, but there you go :)

I try to keep the wear even by rotating the tyres front-back and keeping an eye on the alignment so they all are as close to worn out as possible at the same time. Have been told that it's bad to have uneven tyre diameters - hard on the differentials (4WD) and bad for handling.

Dodgy adverts.

Air NZ have an Airpoints offer whereby if you subscribe to The Economist you can earn "up to 1000 Airpoints Dollars"

On further investigation, to get that many, you would AFAICT need 3 subs, the print only, the digital only and the print & digital. The last of the three being the first two combined there is no sane reason anyone would subscribe to all 3 and it is therefore disingenuous to suggest that you could earn "up to 1000" Airpoints...IMV.

Sure this isn't an indication of an issue if one tyre is wearing out before the other on the same axle? Or do you only turn left?

Open diff on an either front or rear wheel drive, and a heavy right foot? Commonly know as a "single tyre fryer..."

Also known as YOLO - you only left ONE! (skidmark)

When you arrive at the office at the crack of dawn (about 9:30) and your manager has the cheek to say "good afternoon and thank you for joining us"!

Due to a one-way street and the way that traffic flows, my round trip to and from work actually does have several more right turns than lefts.

Geektastic: Use of "yourself" in place of "you".

Grrrr

Even more disappointing: Use of "we have to" when it means you.

Just reply when he goes to lunch: Bye, have a nice dinner. See you tomorrow! ;-)

online sales that dont make sense, case in point. The site has a policy of free delivery over $40.00 . The item i usually get is usually around $43 so great, yet they now have their sale on and it has dropped to $39.50 and now i have to pay $6.00 delivery which now makes it more expensive than usual ,only a couple of dollars but still.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I once bought a handful of things at New World totalling around $26. I scanned my "club card", which awards Airpoints per $25 spent. A club card bonus deal activated and brought the total down to $24ish so I have no idea whether I earned points or not.
