That I have to adjust my time zone in the geekzone profile when you change your time zone? ๐Ÿคจ @freitasm

Then the whole thing again in a week because we change our time zone from summer to winter time. It doesn't look like the geekzone server uses UTC as a reference. Normally you would assume that specifying the time zone you are in once would be enough, even if you had to adjust the change manually? Something small … and smile.๐Ÿ˜Š

As long as you don't have any synchronisation problems with the ROW, that's fine. ๐Ÿ˜„

My server upgrade all worked seamlessly.

HBA install and NIC upgrade all done and working in an hour. I am pleasantly surprised.

Just drove my brand new 20.4kg road legal eScooter at max. velocity 25km to a meeting and 25km back under real world conditions and the dashboard still shows 27% battery charge. The cars are still stuck in traffic in the city because of a Sunday sporting event. I‘m thrilled!

I definitely have to stick "Maverick" and a couple of flying badges that are still lying around here on my scooter helmet - then it will definitely ride even cooler. ๐Ÿ˜†

NZH headline today says a student in Texas was suspended from school because of his hairstyle. Later the story reveals he was a junior at Barbers Hill High School.

I am no longer a parent of school children.
My youngest has now officially passed NCEA Level 2 and has left school.
He starts film school next year.

This is going to be a long summer.

Congratulations!
You have entered the beginning of The Golden Years.

You will be able to take your holidays any time you like, but be able to avoid the expensive school holiday periods.
Your Saturday mornings can be spent as you please, not ferrying children from one sports venue to another
You may have a teeny bit of extra money that you can invest to provide for your own dotage.
You can convert one or more of the kid's bedrooms into a hobby studio, office or sewing room.

In a few years time, you may be able to go out for your birthday dinner with your spouse and children, and find at the end that the kids have paid for everything and you've had a free night out!

This week, an unknown, massive cyber attack scenario on the nation's state and government functions will be practised here - without affecting normal functions. Perhaps unannounced, extraterritorial actors are also involved? I am very curious about the outcome. ๐Ÿ™‚

This should be on the WTF thread, not on the smile.

I mean, really?

One can only be glad that the passenger did not file a complaint with the police because of a stolen steering wheel. ๐Ÿ˜†

Feeling chuffed with myself. In my dotage things I used to understand now perplex me.

I thought my satellite receiver was on the way out. I have a complex set-up with multiple devices and when I switched the power on, the screen would flash on and off while the system took forever to stabilise. I localised the issue to the DVB-S box and assumed it must be a chip failing. After a couple weeks watching it get worse and resigning myself to looking for a replacement, a rusty memory door finally creaked open.

‘Hey, that looks like a power supply capacitor problem’, my brain mumbled as it slowly climbed through the fog.

That was easy to check. I have dozens and dozens and dozens of old AC adaptors in all possible configurations. I dug a suitable one out of a box and plugged it into the sat receiver. Problem solved!

Thank you brain. You can go back to sleep now.

What an awesome human being.

Could we trade all the protesters heading to Parliament right now for just 1 more of her?
