The incorrect interchangeability of "then" and "than", "you're" and "your" and "been" and "being" from people that are otherwise apparently intelligent. It makes reading their sentences twice as long as you have to go back over it again substituting in the correct word once you get to the point it no longer makes any sense.

Let me add to this... "bought" and "brought", "used (to)" and "use (to)".

Are you aware that you can delete posts by going into Edit? In this case it might break the flow of things a bit though!

Pet peeve. I don't know what it was, but when I moved to NZ it seemed people were better at indicating here than in Norway, but darn.. These days most cars I meet in traffic in NZ either don't indicate OR they indicate as they break and turn, as if thats any help...

What do they break?

The brake I suppose. Yup. Spelling...

cadman:

Anyway, in NZ, indicating is mostly seen as a challenge to those around you to try and block your intended manoeuvre. I advise that if you wish to move in one direction, indicate the opposite.

What is it with people and their competitive driving? Seems to fit in with how people drive at 80 until the passing lane and then speed up to 110...

In the case of them, mostly it's due to the road widening so they sub-consciously feel safer to go faster because they're oblivious cretins. But some are just a-holes who don't like to be passed and have to be at the front.

Guest passes to Koru lounges. Seriosuly.... should be frequent flyers only.... and only gold elite get one guest. if you are standard koru, no guest. Also, no dam kids.

Also just the general crapiness of the size of the Auckland domestic/regional lounges. Palmy lounge is bigger than Auckland regional. How does that make sense?!?

And yes I might be a bit grumpy because I'm sitting with noisey people in uncomfortable chairs and my flight is delayed. grrrrrr

Oh, I caught one of those stupid racer guys on camera the other day on a long trip.

The guy was driving slow and then speeding up when someone tried to pass him, to the point of going from 80 to probably at least 130 km/h in a very short distance. Really dangerous driving. (I was not the one trying to pass).

Unfortunately I never got his license plate on the video, or I would have sent in a report on him.

"would of" when it should be "would have" or "would've"

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Over bath showers where the hand rail on one side bangs into you and the shower curtain on the other side attempts to stick to you like a cold, wet burial shroud.

I loath light weight shower curtains for this reason. At the very least, the rising air pulls them in and they rub against you. Unless you fill the bottom hem with small fishing ball lead weights which then rattle on the nib or bathtub when you open and close the curtain.

The cable chaos that comes from half the stuff in my network cupboard having the ports at the back, while the other half has the ports at the front.

Yes. 100% yes.

Guess passes for a spouse or colleague... sure.

For kids? Not so much... but ask someone with kids and they'll tell you another story.

If Nelson would stop it with those terrible corn fritters it would be nice.
I refuse to fly to Palmerston North, so that's fine. :-)
Auckland's regional lounge is tiny, the domestic lounge is fine in size.
Christchurch and Wellington are both more than fine though - I don't mind being in either.

Well I just had the "privilege" of seeing someone driving down the hill at 50 km/h with the passenger door wide open, passenger's feet on the armrest. I actually had to stop and recover!
