We had our first camp of the winter last night. It was good fun and capped off by a dozen of these guys visiting this morning.

'Stunning' is the right word to describe this performance. I recommend it highly.

How awesome it is to have top international Squash players in NZ. Such high quality Squash. Totally worth driving home from Tauranga at 11:30pm last night to catch a flight to Australia this morning. Only shame is, I'll be travelling for work and will miss the teams competition where significantly more players will be here. One of my clubmates even got himself a wildcard spot and got to play in the NZ Open.

17 minutes from drop off to gate at Auckland international airport. Quickest ever. Super efficient on the whole. That 17 minutes included an issue at bag drop. Dreading arrival in Australia.

Yesterday I received a recently launched Bluetooth radar and hazard warning button for the navigation app that I had won. It's a nice feature, starts/stops the smartphone app automatically when I'm in or out of the car - even if the phone is in my jacket. Now I can also "race" through a 5km/h zone at 20km/h with the eScooter without restraint, as I am warned of (even mobile) speed cameras in advance. 🤣

Seriously, in this case the equivalent of 132 NZD would then actually be due here in Germany, as the eScooter is not a bicycle here, but a small electric vehicle that requires a licence plate. 😳

Seeing my little dog settle back into being home, despite two months in a far larger and different home, plus our house being quite different, in terms of flooring and smells etc (new floors, walls, paint et al). He's just gone back to life as it was, quite happily. Currently crashed out on the dining room floor.

Also something that makes me smile: I've recently got two HomePod Mini speakers.

I have them set up in my home office/front room.

What makes me smile is asking Siri to play something that will make me happy - and getting uplifting, happy music, but from genres/artists that I like. Magic (yes I know - it's technology, algorithms, machine learning etc).

I am currently listening to some happy music and feeling quite good about life right now.

Having the best thunderstorm I've seen since living on the West Coast! (Left in the early 80's).

19 Lightning strikes recorded by the Tempest so far in the last hour! Closest was about 2km away! (Flash Boom)

Heavy rain too.

Edited to add: Now up to 31 Lightning Strikes recorded by the Tempest!

Edited to please? Behodar (Removed e's 🙃)

As someone who has worked in Supply Chain for many years I am always amazed at just how accurately the Dilbert cartons depict the absurdity of the day to day conversations that I have with otherwise smart people. I recently had to cause to reflect upon and recall this absolute gem below. A 2 hour meeting in my Tuesday that is accurately captured in 3 pictures and 28 words.

Yesterday evening I filled out an online order form for additional multi-room audio streaming equipment (same music exactly synchronised in all participating rooms) and due to a late evening customer call I didn’t manage to send the order by midnight, as the special offer was only valid until then.

This morning I found a brand new 20% voucher code, which I applied to the still active shopping basket with the actually expired offer for fun and clicked on prepayment. The system accepted it and at that price I immediately had to click the order button (I already have equipment from the company and it's really good).

End of the story: 38.5% discount in total. The discounted order confirmation has already arrived. Thanks to my late evening customer! 😊
