We just started The Heavy Water War and it's excellent.

The dialogue switches between English, German and Norwedish so you need the subtitles on all the time which is a pain when they speak English, but I'm already looking forward to watching another episode tonight.

ghettomaster: Has anyone else got into Homeland? I'm halfway through season 3 and loving it. Claire Danes' character was a little neurotic and annoying to start with but as the character developed and Claire settled into the role it became a great show. I'm glad to see season 6 is in development.

Yes - started watching this in early January on Lightbox and am addicted. Like you, I'm in the middle of Season 3. I see in the credits that it's based on an Israeli series which made me wonder how much more one-sided the original might be?

I wondered this too. But they're so obviously similar to Mulder and Scully (Einstein even has the same colour hair as Scully!) that they're almost a parody of Mulder and Scully. I hope they don't use these two new characters for a spin-off, I didn't like them very much.

Just discovered Babylon on Netflix - great IMO - hilarious smart humour and dark humour mixed into good story lines.

Also enjoying Marco Polo on Netflix.

Thanks martyyn just watch s01e01 of the heavy water war on netflix tonight certainly got me hooked very quickly

Also watch s04e01 of Vikings, one of the best historical tv series around.

'Lucifer' on TVNZ on Demand. The plot isn't exactly mind-blowing but the lead character has some brilliant lines :-)

And I am in the camp of 'terrible, uncommitted' etc. above. I wouldn't watch it but the spouse does. I also gave up on the old one a few seasons before it ended originally.

Well, the originals (who can forget Eugene Toombs...) were a lot more logical than introducing two major characters, revolving the plot around them and then having them disappear never to be so much as remarked upon ever again...!

Reminds me of The Lone Gunmen , it was a shame that series didnt last.

True Detective season 2 on DVD. 8/10

A lot more action and more violent than season 1, a little less moody.

I'm currently watching '7 wonders of the industrial age' - episodes include, Panama Canal, Brooklyn Bridge, Transcontinental Railway, Sewers and others from memory. Very interesting.

I notice it is now on TV3 as well, but the running time is 42 minutes compared to the 57 minutes on the Beeb. I will stick to watching the "full" version. I hate "Commercial Funded" TV.

It usually happens here with hour long programs. They get cut down to an NZ 40 minute commercial hour. Another that springs to mind was the US Project Runway. US version without ads 62 minutes, NZ version without ads 42 minutes.. Prime used to do the same to Top Gear a couple of years ago..
