Aredwood: Windows 10 again. One of its many updates now causes my desktop computer to randomly crash, sometimes after being on for only 2 hours or so. Do I just have to hope that a future update will fix the crashing problem? Or do I have to figure out which update is causing the crashes, disable it, and hope that it doesn't re enable by itself. As I don't think that Win10 has a system where you can block just 1 update, while still getting all other updates.
This is especially annoying as back when I has WinXP, It would happily run for 1 to 2 months without needing to be restarted. Even then, the only reason I would restart it was to install the monthly windows updates. Sometimes you would get lucky, and they would install without needing a restart.
I don't want to come across as a teenage fanboy but...Mac.
It's a paragon of stability in comparison and I never really understand why Microsoft can't achieve similar performance.
Updates do often need restarts but booting takes 20 seconds so not a big intrusion.
Windows was such a big thing that annoyed me that I've sworn off it forever now!
