That our Christmas presents this year worked as expected! (Had to be opened early though!)

Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Headphones.

The drunk neighbours played their head banging boom boom music until 0130 this morning!!!!!!!!!!

Bliss with the headphones on. Wife is very pleased.

I wonder if anyone else around here has them?

My 4 year old.

Taken for his Christmas haircut. The barber usually gives him a lollipop when it's done, which he really likes. He was duly given a lollipop at the end.

He stared it and then said "dad I feel bad that I got a lollipop and you didn't", and gave it to me. Refuses to take it back, tells me it's mine "I gave it to you". I can't bring myself to eat it. He really wanted that lollipop too.........

That's super cute. Eat it, and thank him for being kind and considerate, he will get something from that, a lollipop can't match.

My Grandfather told me a number of things I've never forgotten in raising my kids.

Kids are the BEST thing that happen to you, and the WORST thing that happen to you, sometimes 10 seconds apart :)

Always offer kids a choice.. EG. Do you want a piggy back to bed, or do you want to walk. This is gold

Consistency is key. If you are going to pick something to make a big deal about it, finish it. If you aren't prepared to, then just don't.

It was the first time we had "pyjama day" here on Christmas Eve - something I've never experienced before. It was Sunday, the weather was rainy and grey, we didn't have to go anywhere and even the neighbours came over in their pyjamas and housecoats for a little whisky and a chat. We relaxed from late morning until early evening and cooked delicious, simple food in between. 😊

The bug-a-salt gun I got for Christmas.

66.6% kill rate so far ( 3 shots fired, 2 dead flies), better than what I can achieve in any GTA game.

If you want to know which English feat we Germans (i.e. 12 million of us anyway) celebrate every year on New Year's Eve, then take a look *here*!

We’re starting the fairly miserable trip back to the desert.

We’ll be back to 25 degrees very soon

I've found something else especially for you ... not from a New Zealander, but a Brit who might be able to convince you ;-)
