This would certainly make me smile if I thought I'd get away with it -

“The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.” -John Kenneth Galbraith

A long weekend, with a new phone, no wife and kids tonight, and a great meal is being delivered.

A great action drama I haven't seen yet, would be all that was required to make it perfect.

Found a recipe page, but it had those huge sections with the history and loads of filler. Clicked the Bing Co-Pilot thing in Edge and told it I just wanted the ingredients and cooking method and it really got to the nitty gritty in a few seconds.

My student son has had the greatest career of all of us.

He lives 1000 metres from the palace in the neighbourhood of our head of state, the Federal President. 🀣

What is so great about that? The security must be awful. The last place I would want to be these days is within a kilometre of any head of state.

Not here, the Federal President's estate is in an open park in the center of Berlin where security can let off steam without disturbing the surrounding residents. The good thing about living there is that you have a beautiful park at your disposal (and never any traffic jams 😁)

Same with the Norwegian royal palace, the grounds are open to the public, people have picnics there, weddings, lie on the lawn and read books, ... I took an interesting photo there some years ago across the park-like open grounds to the maximum-security-prison of the US embassy across the street with the Americans cowering behind reinforced concrete and razor wire while the Norwegian royal family invites the public to come in and enjoy the duck pond.

Having @neb back posting in the forums makes me smile.

Welcome back, I've missed your dry humour and wit, intelligent & educated contributions to serious discussions and the odd bit of sarcasm.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Happy New Year neb. This made me smile that every time I think of glue I think of neb and his Japanese wonder glue that I can never remember the name of. Nice that you’re back.
