Express pass often simply gets a faster lane throguh security or customs. There isn't necessarily a short cut involved.

I understand the reasoning but it's still annoying. Long haul travel is draining enough without 25,000 steps tacked onto either end of it.

The removal of letters off of keypads on eftpos terminals etc, i find it much easier to remember a word than random numbers eg dave instead of 3283, eric instead of 3742, I have so many 4 digit codes for work, banks etc, that its easier to think of a word that relates in my mind to the use of the code

For instance i used to belong to postbank (about 20 or soyears ago) so my pin was 4283 or gate because a gate hangs on a post

People who take the lift from ground floor to first floor when the stairs are next to lift... FFS.

Spend 1 minute for the lift to arrive for a journey that takes 15s.

So, I can tell *you’ve* never suffered from a knee injury then.... :-)

(Or worse, the trapped nerve in my hip that took about 4 months to regain the ability to stand on tip-toes on that leg - ever tried walking up steps or even up a slope with no muscle-drive power in a leg? It’s not fun!)

EDIT: And this post gives me the “number of the beast” badge? Nice....

A new carpark near my work has two conflicting signs; one standard blue "P" sign indicating public parking, and a sign saying that it's for customers of [business] only. It can't be both!

If it's on public land, advise the Council. Businesses cannot put up misleading signs restricting use of public parking to their customers.

I'm actually not sure who owns it; the site has been vacant for as long as I can remember. The carpark opened a few weeks ago with the "P" sign alongside, and the "customers only" was only in the past day or two.

As it happens, I'm a regular customer of the business in question so I might ask who owns it next time I'm in there.

Well, I asked about this today. It's a private carpark and is not owned by the council. The owner put the "customers only" sign up, but apparently the council put the "P" there!

This leads to a followup question: Does a white/silver "P" on a blue sign indicate that it's public parking, or just that it's technically possible to park there under certain conditions?

Oh I have. I broke my ankle last year.

I have no gripes with people walking slowly and needing the lift but most people I'm moaning about are the young hipster Co workers who push aggressively into lift, bounce on their toes in the lift and try to exit when the door is barely 2 feel open.

Take the stairs..

Ticketmaster facilitating scalping through the resell part of their website. The purpose of this should be for people who genuinely can't go (because life happens, and it's happened to me a couple of times that I couldn't go to something for reasons that didn't exist at time of purchasing several months in advance) to recover their costs by selling at the purchase price rather than people reselling at more than double the price within 5 minutes of the presale going live. I guess they figure it's going to happen anyway so they may aswell provide the platform so they can take a second cut of fees for the same tickets instead of Trademe getting it.

It pissed me off yesterday when I was trying to buy tickets for Celine Dion for my Mum and couldn't get anything in the presale yet minutes after it went live the resell page had tickets listed at 3 times the price. My mum has wanted to see her for 20+ years and has had a pretty tough time lately so fingers crossed I can get some.

People who arrives at the end of the queue, sees a friend in the front and jump to say "Hello"... When the lift arrive she happily enters it, while people in the queue before her can't come in because it's now full with one extra passenger.
