For FB, I found a plugin for Firefox that removes all inserted news feeds. My wife was getting really annoyed at the news insertions through out the feeds, especially during the last US election.

Link please!

The Skinny widget and the Skinny app showing different numbers for rollover data balance - one is 1.024x larger than the other! I'm presuming that one counts 1MB as 1 000 000 Bytes and the other 1 024 000 Bytes.

Using cheap junk driver bits on cheap junk screws will do that. Replace the bits. Stop buying phillips trash since thats designed to slip out so that henry ford didnt have to invest in drills with clutches when making the model T.

House flies. Where do they come from and why won't they go through an open window / door.

And why can't I swat the thing with a towel 10m square!

A billion dollars to anyone who has a bomb proof way of catching the little buggers wink 'cos fly spray is useless and my flame thrower took out the curtains.

Yes! Not sure where these days.

I used to have several.

Even saw a nursery here growing them once. They had huge ones too, and Pitcher plants etc.

That was pre quake...don't know their name as they were sub-letting space from Valley Nurseries at the time.

Well, that proved me wrong!

Carl's Jr Manager from the Bush Inn store actually phoned me.

A FREE repeat order is waiting "anytime".

He admitted to me that they have other complaints from the weekend as well!

Wrong orders / short measures / no sauce in burgers / wrong temperatures etc!

Will see what the "free" meal is like, when I finally get it. Maybe a while.

We rarely have takeaways.

Well we finally tried out the "Free Meal" tonight.

Congratulations for a hassle free experience after 3 months.

We were offered to make any changes - we opted for extra normal fries and no criscut etc

Well final verdict was:

Not going back. Good try, Great HOT well cooked fries, but:

The burgers were stone cold again. Microwaved so we could eat them, with usual microwaved soggy result, but at least it was HOT!

Shame really, the first several visits were great. No more!

I've made it a habit on the rare occasions where I go through a drive-thru (out of desperation) to check my order thoroughly before I move away. Like as in actually unwrap things. They simply can't be trusted to get it right anymore. The times I've had half-filled fries and lukewarm cold burgers have instilled this in me.

That with all the problems with plastics in our waterways / oceans etc, that:

In Christchurch, old cycle way coatings (Plastic beads effectively - or more appropriately NOT glued to the road)

are water blasted into the gutters to enter the waterways!

Then the "new" version (Also plastic beads) doesn't even last 3 months before peeling off and disintegrating back into the beads and entering the waterways!

(The old version still on one section on Hansons Lane is in better condition than the new one!)

Timers built in to ovens.  I never use them, but I have to switch the thing to manual every-time I want to use the oven.  Some ovens they won't let you sue to oven at all until the clock is set.

Trying to change the headlight bulb on an Impreza. Just rotate and pull the fitting apparently. The fitting on the side with the working headlight rotates and pulls just fine, but the side with the failed bulb, will that move or pull, will it #^##$%$

I use ours as a countdown only.

My parents had a (no longer made) Dyson washing machine which had a very sensible timer. You told the machine what time you wanted the laundry to be finished and it worked out when to turn on and begin in order to comply with that. Very handy for loading in the morning and asking it to complete at say 6pm when you expect to return home.

a couple of things...

- People who can't walk in a straight line down the footpath

- People who walk around WLG under the cover of shop\building awning's with there umbrella's still up. Always seems to be people who are shorter than me (I'm roughly 6ft), therefore when they spin around to look at something, said umbrella is right at eye height
