I'm so glad the minor British royals have finally gone away and the obsequious fawning over them by our shameless gushing media has come to an end. The sooner we are a republic, the better!

What harm does it do? and for a large number in the community its a boost to their day, week, year.

Why not just pick some random people out of a crowd every year and make them royals for a week? Achieves the same thing and probably costs less.

Given the crowds I saw driving through the Wellington even on a terrible day in the Capital the numbers were high, so yes for a lot of people it was fun.
