I'm absolutely fed up with red light runners.

It is endemic and happens nearly all the time.

Last night on the way to kids sport, some guy must have been going 90kph in a 60kph zone but still ran through on the red and almost caused a collision, horns were blaring.

Cops are just not enforcing the law.

1) Why don't they put cameras on every red light and simply automate the issuing of fines?

2) Why is the penalty so low for something so dangerous?

Cisco and HP's blunt way to make their SFP multimode optical transceivers 'unique'.

Just use Digitus DN-81000-01 (HP-programming) or DN-81000-02 (Cisco-programming) SFPs and be happy.

Their equipment only works when relevant programming is found (and reports this as well to an eventually logged-in customer support which can refuse service as long and just due to the fact, that foreign h/w is in the loop - regardless it is part of the problem by itself or not). :-(

Other MSA standard users (equipment from Allied Telesis, Allnet, Dell, D-Link, Edimax, Hirschmann, Huawei, Intellinet, KTI Networks, Level One, Linksys, Netgear, PLANET, Tenda, TP-Link, TRENDnet, Ubiquiti, ZyXEL, ZTE, ...) don't have to worry about and should go with the generic DN-81000 (no extention) SFP. :-)

- NET: FTTH, OPNsense, 10G backbone, GWN APs, ipPBX
- SRV: 12 RU HA server cluster, 0.1 PB storage on premise
- IoT: thread, zigbee, tasmota, BidCoS, LoRa, WX suite, IR
- 3D: two 3D printers, 3D scanner, CNC router, laser cutter

Basically, two major vendors of networking kit have modified a standard fibre-optic connection module to ensure you have to buy their version at greatly inflated prices. If their kit detects non-vendor-approved hardware, they can refuse to diagnose any problems.

Now that I write that, it reminds me of Apple, really.... :-)

Yes, <ESC> is quite important in vi, too; as it cancels a lot of operations.

My biggest bugbear with “vi” is that I often fat-finger something and put it into command-line mode by mistake. That’s a pain; really don’t know why “vi” includes an “ed” emulator.... (And if anyone else cares, “:vi” will return to normal mode again)

Of course, this conversation is bound to start the holy war off again...

I can't really understand what's "visual" on these 1976's cryptic vi-commands. Therefore I only use/install nano.
