Also ‘secant’ instead of ‘second’ and ‘carmelised’ instead of ‘caramelised’.
And Jagwire instead of Jaguar
Their’s sounds like Jagwah rather than -wire.

I Googled "Why do Americans pronounce soldering as soddering?"
Also "boo-ee" instead of "buoy"
We’ve been here before. At that time I remember looking into the difference in pronunciation of soldering/soddering and found that there’s a good case for the US version being more historically accurate than the other version that we use - see here.
Agree. Ive spent a good amount of time there, mainly southern states. I dont get soddering though
Buoy Bu says it. How in Kiwi speak does buoy become boy as well?
Tomatoes Potatoes. Consistent there
I say can. I say cannot. But I also say can't as carnt. Why?
Oil there is orl, maybe a southern thing. Herbs is erbs
But overall they tend to pronounce how it is spelt.
I pronounce trump as rump. happy with that...

I think their’s sounds like Jagwar rather than -wire.
One on hand Jagwar is odd, but they are found in the South America's which makes Jagwar proper IMO

Actually my ‘jagwar’ suggestion is better expressed as ‘jagwah’.

In theory, shouldn't it be 'Hag-wah' ?

You might think so - in Spanish-speaking countries. But just to trick us, the Spanish word for jagwah is 'tigre'.

I've suggested this before, but perhaps grammar and other language discussions could have their own thread?
I recently purchased another 12 months of M365 family as my subscription is due to be renewed in January. I bought from an on-line retailer that mails out retail boxes with a redemption code in side. They sent me two boxes that were labelled as 6 months subscriptions. I entered the first redemption code and my subscription end date went from Jan-2025 to Jan-2026. I thought there must have been error so I double checked the box and it clearly stated 6 months. I logged out of my account and back in to make sure it wasn't a glitch and it was still there, Jan-2026. I entered the 2nd redemption code and my subscription went to Jan-2027.
Woohoo, 2yrs for the price of 1yr!

This was our Mazda CX-3 having it's aircon fixed @ 9am this morning! (Known fault, but out of extended warranty)

Mazda supplied the part free, as they know the whole history and use of our vehicle since new.
Same person has serviced our vehicles for the last 20yrs or so.
Blackwells Mazda Sockburn returned it clean and tidy.
The car is already back in our garage.

Oh wait! So when I asked an American acquaintance the other day how his business was going and he replied "sod off", I should have congratulated him on the sale rather than telling him to go f*** himself. 😝
Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Filling a 240 L bin solely with grass clippings.
Something about one's own freshly mowed lawn however, makes me smile every time. Pay someone else to do it? Nah that's my free gym time.

Ah another "false friend".
I recall our Spanish teacher telling us an anecdote about how she had said in English to someone that she was "constipated". Constipado in Spanish means you have a cold.
This made me smile today
