People who burn wet wood in winter.

Wood burners have to be banned in urban areas. We are regularly smoked out of our house this winter! Not sure who it is, but there is nothing we can do other than inhale polluted air.

Whereabouts is that?

In Chch you can report excessively smoking chimneys to the council.  They will then visit the homeowner and provide an education package.  They have the power to prosecute.  AFAIK, despite having the power to prosecute, the total number of prosecutions over a couple of decades has been zero.  This is of course proof of how well the education works :-).

It might also be someone who keeps their fire running with the damper completely closed. Meaning the wood is mostly smoldering instead of burning.

Supposedly some of the emissions compliant fires are really easy to modify, so they can then be fully damped down. The incentive to do so being able to load up the fire before bedtime, and have it slowly burning all night.

You bump into an old acquaintance or friend whom you haven't seen for a time. You give them your phone number and they never contact you.

The small re-capatcha in the bottom right corner. It really does bug me. Its where important notifications pop up so I'm trained to observe anything weird in that area.

Why accept it if you have no intention of phoning them?

Tauranga....it is usually worst between 5.30pm to 8pm'ish.

Not every day, just certain types of weather cause smoke to move slowly or settle around our property. Windy days are great!!

It is truly awful though, we have visitors who comment on having to breathe in acrid air.

The rubbish bin only getting half emptied. Doing a big clean out and have to get rid of lots of polystyrene. Except I jammed too much into the wheelie bin. And when the truck tried to empty the bin, most of it remained in the bin.

The rubbish bin not getting emptied at all - rejected by the collection crew because a bit of cardboard propped it ajar.
