Just in everyone's hands instead. Sounds like a valid H&S complaint if you get cut!

People at work who put sharp knives facing upwards in the dish washer - so annoying. They probably have a belief that this washes the top of the knife very well.

Should be washing sharp knives by hand anyway. Dishwasher dulls the blades faster.

I still believe the grammar and spelling police are worse. How do you tell if it is "intellectual laziness"? So far in our society people with disabilities or do not have English as a first language do not have to wear badges announcing and detailing their disabilities or abilities.

My wife worked at UNI. she says the number of people with absolutely poor levels of literacy were appalling - and this is at University level. Either you can meet standards or you cant - but at Uni there should be no excuse.

Looking at literacy standards coming through - they are falling. As kids use devices they don't learn as well. They copy and paste instead of reading, thinking and regurgitating. By typing or speak to text they don't learn as well as they aren't using multiple learning modalities at the same time (reading, then writing improves recall).

Its like programming - if you copy and paste in the basics, for say a web page, from a template - then when you are asked to actually use notepad and do it yourself you have no idea. People claim to be programmers because the IDES do half the heavy lifting - but without them are stuffed. Memory and recall are also falling. The ability to look up google is dulling those skills. Spelling is just part of that.

I dfidn't say it was a good idea.

I had a near miss in an industrial kitchen one time - just this cause. Sliced part of my wrist along the arm as I reached down. Thankfully not too deep but an mm or two more and it would have been a different story.

I'm still trying to figure out for spoons / forks - should it be handle down or utensil down? one is top heavy, the other seems to be less efficient for cleaning - being in a basket.

Not as annoying as when your doing the inspection and you have to dig under the rear seats amongst the kids months old sandwiches, lollies and other unmentionables to find the centre seat belt buckle and dig out the crap in it to make sure it works.

As part of staff development I hired a few times someone to come in and run staff training sessions on CV and letter writing and giving interview tips etc.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
